Congrats! Quite a steal for these bad boys. The keycaps are absolutely gorgeous. I have yet to try beamspring and hopefully one day I will.

What's the exact name of those keyboard beamspring models?

I'm confused, how did you buy two for $75?
Any advice for others on how to find any for a decent price?  I'd like one of those!!

Any advice from any of you more experienced guys on how to find these items?  What were these models called exactly?  I don't even know what to search for.

Honestly all my best finds have been local.  You make friends with people at electronic recycling places/surplus warehouses and hope that they don't check ebay.

Web searches are nearly useless for this.  Find someone who has access to real-time online catalogues, and ask them to search by part numbers.  Membership at these online catalogues is expensive, often upwards of $100 a month.

... What are you going to do with them?

I'm also wondering what these can be used for exactly.

The original controller and its 25-pin plug can be replaced with a xwhatsit's controller and a USB cable, making it usable on a modern computer.

Interesting.  It looks like you could fit a modern SFF mobo inside this keyboard housing and convert it into an all-in-one PC.

Impressive technique. Sounds like you really earned this find. :thumb:

There's less room in there than you'd think, but you could fit a couple Pi's

Beamspring is my absolute favorite switch, it feels sooo wonderful.  It's The switch I dream of using on a modern small keyboard (with Cherry-compatible stems, heh).  Cool find!
