Keycaps for special layout
« on: Thu, 30 May 2013, 21:24:58 »
How would I go about buying replacement keycaps for this keyboard?

As well as the fact they are all R4, some of the keys have quite a bit of wear. If anyone has an idea that would be great.

DSA Retro would have been perfect! Maybe not the spacebar? I don't know, never pulled it to check it.

I should just participate in every group buy knowing that there will eventually be a time like this. That is a great idea though, I will search for a set.

True. Though this will be a harder find for you. You need either random blank sizes or many of the extra sets for sizes. Or maybe someone who bought those would let you have a cap or two here or there. I don't imagine it'll be easy to piece together or that you'll find everything you need from one person.

Yea the retro set might me out. It would be too expensive to get all the necessary keys.

SP may have stock of PBT/ABS DSA caps that you can purchase. I believe their rate is $1 per cap, but Melissa has been known to be nice.

The best keycaps for that keyboard are B Series from QWERKeys:

They're designed for that kind of keyboard. I need to get my hands on one of those TG3  ;D

I agree with esoomenona, with an odd-ball layout like this, DSA would be great.  There will be another group buy happening soon(tm).   You wold still struggle to find the 1! and tab keys in the correct profile, though.
Freebird WKL (Blacks Clear-Tops), iKBC F-104 (Blacks) and more!
