DIfference of thick and normal

Anyone know the difference between thick and normal PBT? Do they feel much different?

Not really. Plate vs PCB-mounted are more different. Lubed vs. not lubed are more different. PBT vs ABS vs POM are more different.

thick keycaps feel more solid to me when bottoming out.  The thinner the keycap the more flimsy they feel.  You can tell if you type on a normal black widow and a backlit one, the blacklit has thicker keycaps and feels much more solid.

I'm with Danule on this. They also make a nicer more "clacky" sound when they bottom out. I actually removed my intial o-ring mods just so I could enjoy and appreciate the nice sound of the thick PBTs bottoming out.

Originally, I didn't like the sound of the ABS keys bottoming out, which is why I got it in my head that o-rings were going to be good for me. But with the thick PBTs, I'm all about the noise!

I find it's more noticeable on the longer keys (ones with stabilizers), then you'll notice that it is quite a lot more stable/solid.

Overall my first impression was ok, but then the thick keys slowly grow on me and now I like them better.  :)

Cool; thanks. I guess I never really thought about it, but the double-shot manufacturing technique is essentially a de facto wall-thickening process. I have never used a double-shot ABS keycap before. (I'm sort of a blank-keycap nerd, for which double-shot doesn't really make any sense, and I tend to prefer low profile, which for whatever reason seems to be hard to find in ABS). I'll have to give up my aesthetic purity and see if I can countenance some key legends in order I can give thick ABS a try. ;)

well its not any doubleshot, i mean perticularly the cherry ones are thicker than normal.  They are also cherry profile which is lower.
