My spouse got me into this.
« on: Sat, 04 October 2014, 19:42:18 »
Hello everyone I'm Alexiss,
My husband has brought me into this wonderful community.  He has provided my with a keyboard to make my own. I have been to the Chicago Keycon in 2013.  I have heard about many of you and have had the privilege to meet some of you too.   :D

Welcome!

It must be nice to have someone who understands the keyboard compulsion! I wish I could say the same. :) I am very inventive at justifying my many purchases though, so at least I'm  honing my creativity.

Welcome. Only good things, I hope....

If I talked to her at keycon, probably not.

EDIT: God, I'm slow, I finally realized who this is

Yeah she hasn't used that filco that much.  I am currently on the hunt for a GH36 to build up as a game pad for her.  At which point she said she will use it on her PC.  I had her try my orbweaver but due to her relatively small hands she doesn't like the palm rest.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Will you be buying two of everything now?  It's bad enough when I have to get an extra few keycaps in each purchase for my daughter :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
