However I would prefer the RGB mods to not be in desaturated colors.

The OP did good with his choice of colours because this is after all RetroBlight, reflecting true age as a design consideration one of the only few key-sets to exhibit this.

Looking forward to when this goes LIVE Frosty, make it soon okay.

Really sorry about putting this off but I do have my reasons.
I am currently holding this off as some others on the forum are discussing matters that concern this keyset as well as others.
As soon as this matter is resolved we may continue. I cannot currently disclose what this matter is, but I will in due time.

I can only assume this and Penumbra R2 don't want to be run at the same time  ;)

Regardless, will shell out for both :)

DO WANT.  I'm such a sucker for retro colours.  Combined with SA is just amazing.  I'll wait as long as I have to.

correct me if i'm wrong but this could be done in dye sub'd PBT?

I see that SP offers SA profile blanks in PBT on their site.. would this set by chance be PBT?

SP won't do dyesub PBT. Those blanks are left over from a test run for a client. They don't have the holders for dyesubbing them and won't be making them in bulk again.

YES we shall all wait for this one.  Definitely worth adding to any collection especially since this colour-way exemplifies old style keyboards.  Love the size of the legends because you have done the decent thing for us older participants in making this key-set thoroughly usable.  Don't need to use my bifocals when I use your set which is brilliant compared to all the other sets, using tiny fonts on keys which is totally ignorant and unfair for us lot here on this site.

The Aged Look is in, because we all want to look old and worn out here on Geekhack...... at least make it happen next year, Frosty old stick.

Black would give the set a sharper look while anything faded like grays or dark browns would make it look worn or older.
Personally I doubt that dark brown would look that great.

Would a Dark Brown add to the authenticity of this Set, because it adds more warmth to that "aged" look of it?

Using Black is fine but it makes it more clinical and new compared to what you originally wanted to achieve with this key-set.

Dark brown will simulate a faded black, that will go well the overall concept of the set, a yellowed faded old beige set.

I could easily do TAA if you think that a dark brown would simulate the aged look.
However, it all depends which kinds of caps you want to simulate really. Some old yellowed caps still have legends as black as night, and then some don't.
The aged colour of legends all depends on how the legends are printed. However I would agree in that "blacker than black" legends would not suit the set.

Bunny said they're developing them and should be ready for the Penumbra r2 release if I'm not mistaken.

The alphas for this and penumbra are the same right? Seems like you could run the 2 buys as one with different mod packs, though not sure if that creates any logistical headaches for the people running the buy.

Bunny is planning on running Penumbra r2 as one kit like the GMK group buys. If you end up getting penumbra then you'll just need to buy the modifiers for this set.

Alright guys! The cat is out of the bag!
I was waiting for the row 4 shift keys to be finished for this group buy. Now we may continue.
The only issue now is that I need some proper mock ups.
I am willing to commission someone to make mock ups of all the kits that will be in this set. Once that is finished I'll try and move to an actual launch.

I have got in contact with thesiscamper and the mockups will be redone by him.
I will also have an awesome render that should display most of the set!

An ergodox kit is not included in the OP right now, but there will be a mockup for it and it will be made!
If there are any major last minute concerns then I can address them since we are still in the IC phase.

Can't wait for the new renders, thesiscamper is quite talented in that regards. Haven't poked around enough to see when this group buy will start but it looks like Penumbra r2 is in the near horizon since the new Ctrl[ALT] store is up and running.

By the way, those 3D renders. Sploosh.
thesiscamper really did a great job on this one and he is an absolute pleasure to work with.
I would highly recommend his work to anyone wanting to start a group buy.  :thumb:

Have you talked to SP at all yet regarding manufacturing times? They have been quite burdened with SA sets lately.

New renders look great. not sure if it is a lot of work but it would be interesting to have one of them with a black keyboard instead of beige to get an idea of how the keys would look where they contrast with the board.

Oh SCHWEET GEEBUS, just as I thought it couldn't get any better you then elevated this key-set into real Retro Goodness.

This is the Key-set to DIE for, shall be buying most of it for some of my Cherries and a 55g Thorpie  8) .  Thanks for still pushing this colour-way and most of all keeping it all OLD looking because for an ancient dude, these babies bring tears of joy to my blood shot eyes.

New renders look great. not sure if it is a lot of work but it would be interesting to have one of them with a black keyboard instead of beige to get an idea of how the keys would look where they contrast with the board.

In accordance to your request, I have a render of the set on a black TKL.
I hope that this is of help to you.  :thumb:
