So I got the thing built but something when haywire with my pcb and about 4 keys don't work at all and a "column" of keys malfunction when pressed. I'll just order a different 60% pcb and use that. All in all the board looks and feels incredible, I just can't wait to get to use it

i would double check the soldering you did on the daughterboard. is this the hotswap PCB or your own tray mount one? if you take the PCB out of the case and plug directly into the PCB does it still do the same thing?

Unfortunately that isn't the issue. I just tried plugging directly into the pcb after taking it out and the same keys weren't working whereas the others still are. It's random like 6, N, S all don't work. I'm chalking up to a pcb issue for now, thanks for the advice!

if you bought the PCB and matching plate, you do not need to use the standoffs at all. the plate actually screws into the top of the case from the underside. if you line up the plate on the underside of the top you should see how it bolts in. this pictures shows it, see how the plate is bolted around the edges to the underside of the top.

Yea so like I took the switches off the pcb and plate. Then I just put a single switch on the problem keys and plugged the pcb in. The problem keys weren't working but the ones that were working continued to work.

ah ok, so my guess would be the hotswap sockets are not soldered in all the way. i would test to see if the pads are sending signals correctly (you can do this by connecting the pads with a set of tweezers), that way you would know the PCB underneath is fine but that the hotswap sockets need to be addressed. and then i would try adding some solder to the hotswap sockets to get them seated in the pads. but i know that's a bit of work/know-how so if thats too much, i hope ramiel gets you a new PCB soon!

I'll try the tweezers thing! If it's a hotswap socket issue and not a pcb issue then I can probably figure it out, otherwise Ill snag another 60% pcb.

I bought one of these second hand on Mechmarket, and got a stainless steel iso plate for it cut at laserboost, fits really well and makes it even more heavy! If anyone else wants to get a new plate in the future, these are the settings I used in http://builder.swillkb.com. to generate the plate:

is that the end that connects to the PCB? it looks like the other side is ok, so could you just cut that end off a good cable and strip the wires to connect it to the daugherboard?

or do you think you need a replacement daughter board?

No the end that connects to the PCB is completely busted. I need to find a replacement and solder it onto the wires that connect to the daughterboard

Not sure I follow 100% but can you just cut apart a new usb cable with the right end to fit your pcb and solder that to the daughter board? You would then connect 4 wires from usb cable to 4 holes on daughter board.
