There are just so many choices. Its hard to commit to anything. I'm so indecisive.

I wish there were more pictures online of everyone's different rests so I can compare.

I want to pick a royal blue leather with a turquoise stitching. I just think the colors might be to overpowering.

I'm conflicted. :/

First of two different batches shipping out today!  One isn't a wrist rest though--it's Melvang's custom panavise base.  Inside is a thick steel plate with leather cemented and stitched on either side.  The stitching is orange--just not as bright as the name so it didn't show up that well here unfortunately. Enabler GB for scale :)

Second is the very first FC660 size, in oxblood with turquoise stitching:

Will be invoicing the next 4-5 orders in the next few days as I'm getting a lot out the door this week.

If you go back a couple pages, there's a picture with a Royal Blue 60% (under Dabestmaynes) to give you a bit of an idea of how it looks.  The royal blue is more muted than the navy blue (the Aperture blue), I'd compare it to jeans that have been worn a month vs. brand new jeans to give you an idea of the difference in colour.  The turquoise thread does stand out, but in my opinion it's my favourite thread as everything I use it with ends up amazing, from black to (just today) oxblood.

You're totally right though, I need to make some kind of index to show off different combinations in their final form--it's hard to get a good idea of the final product from a small dye swatch.

Beautiful!!!

Melvang, that is an epic idea...  Awesome...  Makes the crappy base I made for my beautiful Panavise look even that much worse.  Haha...

Wonderful work as always Noko...

First coat of finish goes on tonight, then outlining/highlights tomorrow (then it'll finally look like the finished product ;) )
I'll post a pic here once that step is done!

Going to edit this post as well in a little bit as I took a picture of the second part of this week's shipment but haven't uploaded it yet.

Just a random question/thought that I had for you Noko. I know you just announced that you're going to have a studio to work out of now. Will that include some form of drying oven? I don't know if there is a special process you have now nor if there's such a thing as a machine that helps regular humidity to dry things out. But I just wanted to float the idea out there to see what you thought. :D

I got my wrist rest in the mail today. Not only is it the best quality wrist rest I've had by a loooooooooooong shot, the size is perfect, and I can see the capacitive equation on my FC660C for the first time while using a wrist rest with the keyboard. I'm thrilled with the end result. I'll post pics with the FC660C this weekend.

Here's that second batch I sent out earlier this week:

That's great news.  I really really want my first Topre to be an FC660C so I'm happy the size is right on.
I was thinking it would go with Miami on an M based on the colours.. but now that I know it's the C.. :)

Just a random question/thought that I had for you Noko. I know you just announced that you're going to have a studio to work out of now. Will that include some form of drying oven? That's actually a very similar idea to what I just set up this week!  I can't use too much heat though, so I just put the shelves alongside the baseboard heater to get a little heat.

(A kind of fun aside, veg tan leather hardens when heated, so for things like gun holsters and armor, people put them in a low oven for about half an hour, not too much so that they get brittle though.  This brittleness is difficult to manage correctly, but there is surviving leather armor and weapon sheaths from hundreds of years ago that have been hardened in a process that hasn't been figured out by archaeologists that is a lot more durable wearing!  Really fun to read about the research on these artifacts, considering we still don't know very much about historical leatherworking.)

Here's a picture.  I got a bunch of the cheapest wooden Ikea shelves to use as drying racks, and was really lucky to get a bunch of large fans plus these tall black tables from the previous tenant for an extremely good price:

I'll do some more pics/info once I'm more moved in, I've been doing it slowly to make sure I'm still keeping up on orders and stuff, carrying packages on the subway :)

Had to take a quick teaser pic when I went home for lunch and found a package waiting for me.

That's really good timing for Canada-US via mail.  I always expect the worst of USPS as you could tell from my packing job ;)
Looking forward to seeing the whole setup.

Could you do a 60% Wrist rest with the Rhino i have as a profile picture? or is that to hard to do?

Would you be able to PM me a larger version?  It's a lot easier to plan things out the bigger an image I have.

A dehumidifier would work wonders for your new work space imo. they're basically just peltier plates with fans pulling air across them to condense the water out of the air. either way, everything looks fantastic as always. keep up the great work ma'am!

Every time I come here in this section I am always ogling at what's being done in the world of wrist rests.  I think the work Noko accomplishes here make our keyboards look so boring and pedestrian.

The real highlight is Noko's work which is the best by far on the internet, anywhere  8) .

Hey sorry the picture didn't turn out ideally, but it's got a great effect of the cross in black and matte black shadows underneath that looks a lot better in person :)  Was just pretty darned hard to photograph.  I ended up putting the art on the right side based on the proportions, it just didn't feel correct in the center due to its size.

I'm moving pretty quickly through the next names on the list now (based on the sizes of leather I'm making pieces of) so if you've been out of touch and I have you on the hold list, feel free anytime to get in contact and we can pick up with your order.

Hey everyone, been busy with some unexpected school things so I've kept up on leatherworking rather than posting in my spare time ;)

Sent this out this week, I feel like it needs to be called "Batman Style".  There will be a lot more pictures to come Monday though--new Totoro art, FFVII art, and some other pieces that will be shipping.  Plus I put together some pictures of my new work area I'd like to share with everyone in a more detailed post.

I love the ones with the green stitching Noko. ;)

And of course I still love mine. :D I'm really surprised how well the white painting had held up btw. I was expecting it to wear out a bit, especially the left-hand side, as it is where I always rest my hands but it is still as good as new. Just a bit more shiny. But in leather that is not a bad thing. :P

Shipped all these off earlier this week, and moving through a bunch of new invoicing as well.
(Yeah, those blown out highlights, argh.  Still figuring out that artificial light setup in my new place :( )

Take a close look and you will see some small soot sprites hiding in the black :)

I'm quite excited to see my order =D

Probably holds the record for most practices I've done :)  Did one just on the eyes, hah.  Need to be really patient about the moisture content of the leather with this level of detail too.
I'll try to remember to upload pics tomorrow!

And when you receive it, it's just as heavy as your keyboard because she actually uses metal inside the item which is a first amongst palm rests anywhere.  Her standards are up there with Rolls Royce and Bentley vehicles because she uses first rate materials in the construction of your product.

When you buy one of her palm rests it exemplifies style and quality, something that is built to outlive you and trust me it will  :thumb: .

Here's a super potato preview.  Needs the highlight coat to make the lines visible--right now it's kind of like just cel shading--but you can sort of see it's going to look very cool.
Will ship next week and get a better photo once I do the highlight :)

Unfortunately it is quite expensive to do tracked shipping to Europe, I could save you maybe 5 dollars by switching to the post, but then it will take 3-4 weeks to arrive instead of 3-4 days :(

Thanks very much for your positive feedback Elrick!  Rolls Royce and Bentley standards, that's very kind of you

Thank you.  Happy to uphold the GH tradition, there's always something to add to your keyboard you never realized you needed.. and then you buy more keyboards  ;)

I would put your work well above Rolls or Bentley.  I would rank it as the company that customizes Rolls and Bentleys.
