Center stem stepped capslock here?
Why not DCS WYSE? Same classic white/gray scheme with navy font and yellow accent. If we love DCS we don’t need a halfsteps.

I dont mind having the thin DCS I've typed on it before and it lets you feel the switch more. It shows you the difference between the switches more.
I quite like the sound of DCS on some keyboards too!

That was the most coherent thing the treeleaf has said in a while

Looks great. Good old beige!

That said, I'm really curious how much more expensive this would be if it were PBT. PBT DCS is a lot nicer to me than ABS DCS.

The quotes for PBT for a base kit this large are insane - to the point that at the large MOQ breaks its more to manu than i would be selling as this in ABS. Future plans are for more DCS sets with smaller kits but ran in PBT, its the only feasible way.

  • Confirming a few things such as the stem locations for the stepped caps with SP. This is still an early IC :D
  • I personally am not a fan of the WYSE grey colors. I wanted beige specifically, just following the traditional fontface. Unsure what you mean by halfsteps.

Those are all things being confirmed. With the renders coming soon, I'll have several options for people to vote on. I'm not a fan of the backspace, but it does have a charm to it! And yes to caps, I traced it to be able to render it. Just been busy.

Better be honest than come up with some BS. When I get the sample set, I'll make models from scans of that. Keep it accurate for those who else want to use the models in the future too :D

It would be cool to have usual stepped capslock and center stem stepped capslock both. Super cool for hotswap PCBs.
Yea, i realise that WYSE colors are really too gray! Cherry beige colors are more usual.

Downside view because tops are burned in peroxide.
I mean "not for hardcore WYSE fans", but actually DCS is very close to Topre and Space Invaders caps too.

Also maybe make mods with ANSI style with descriptions (Shift, Enter, Tab, Backspase)?
Or why ISO Enter have Enter lettering))

I mentioned in the old kitting, that everything would be moving to icon only (so no text on any of the mods). It was a mistake in the renders :(

I would, but gmk 9009 exists, so whats the point. I prefer how WYSE looks on DCS personally, and is why I am sticking to it.

No Canada vendor?

Do you have any recommendations? I'm happy to arrange this if it is urgent but after hunting around I haven't had a lot of interest from Canada itself.

Sam (kuma) wanted to run this, and left the server a week later when I assume he thought there was no activity on the project. And to be honest, kuma is 110% a big nope.

Muchly appreciated. It’s always nice not to have to pay import charges on an order from the US.

Now that we're bringing classic sets like 9009 and Honeywell into DCS, can we get some of the more exotic but restrained ABS sets like GMK Ocean Dolch, Skidolcha, Tai Hao Kingfisher, JTK Yolch, and maybe some of the crazier ABS ones like Nautilus Nightmares [gotta admit that one needs a do-over and would look good in DCS.]

I don't know if we'll ever see ePBT Slate again, but what about DCS Slate?

Anyway, this is probably the wrong place to ask.

Always feel free to ask. I have more DCS in the pipeline, but this time smaller base kits with more child kits. 9009 was kitted with 'big base' because, well, its beige, and a one size fits all (well most) was the best approach. However for almost every other instance, smaller kits are easier to wok with, and SPs pricing is significantly better off with smaller kits and higher MOQ.

In short, yes yes and yes!!! Jump into discord, throw some ideas there. I have plans for pbt as well, and colors are not as troublesome as one may think :D

I dont think i addressed this but, at the same MOQ, the cost alone would be close to $160, including vendor markups, and not including shipping, for the same base kit. PBT works with smaller bases and child kits. I wish i could but given DCS is not hugely popular already, ABS for this set at least was teh way to go. Plus, ABS DCS sounds insane. I'm unsure about pbt  ^-^

Alps kit yes!

But no numpad? :(

Given the low expectation of ALPS kit sales, its at a significantly low MOQ compared to the regular mx base.

That being said, if the alps kit does well, I will try my best to get some in stock numpad kits that can be put onto preorder. That, in the end, is each vendor's choice to support, but its something I am willing to push.

And no, it wont be charged at a premium for it being in stock, if you have purchased an ALPS base. I'll always try to support where I can  :p
