Wrist pad for Filco Majestouch 2 Full Size
« on: Fri, 22 November 2013, 02:27:18 »
Hi all,

New here (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=51328.0). Looking for the best wrist pad for a full length Filco Majestouch 2. I will be using this KB primarily at work for 8+ hours a day so has to be comfy!

Preferably somewhere that has international shipping at decent rates (Im in New Zealand).

That is brilliant. Might be too cute for work though. How have people found wooden wrist rests? Ive seen a few on this forum :)

You shouldn't use a wrist rest while typing, because of bending wrists. You probably shouldn't use a wrist rest at all, because of pressure on carpal tunnel. Moreover, I'd never use a wooden/plastic/metal/leatherette/leather one, because of usually cold surface.

I occasionally rest my *palm* on Allsop Wrist Assist, while navigating through a document. I've considered the Grifiti fat one for gaming, but again—I want to refrain from using anything like that.

I can recommend the Grifiti fat wrist pad.  It had a nice, soft feel for resting when not typing.  I was taught to never rest my wrists while typing, but as davkol stated, it is nice when just resting or gaming.
wut. i'd buy a ****ty IBM board for that green V2

Hey, I've got a virtually unused 3M WR310LE Gel Wrist Rest (with antimicrobial protection), which is 19"W X 2-3/4"D X 3/4"H, Black, that I can sell you for $10 + Shipping + PayPal fee.  I got it to try, but it's way too long for a TKL Filco or 60% HHKB.  However, it's a perfect fit for a full-size Filco though.  And it is a great wrist rest.  The 3M gel wrist rest is definitely more comfortable than any other one I've ever tried.

PM me if you want to buy it.

PM me if you want to buy it.

Could be keen.

I didnt know you shouldnt type with a wrist wrest. My natural typing position is with my elbows firmly on the desk with my wrists raised up above the keyboard (my hands hover over it). Am I also doing this wrong? Ive actually been having bad pains for years now, finally going to try fix it.

i actually own one of the fullsize filco wrist rest, its nice.
Im using my Realforce 87 so its literally sitting in the corner, and my TKL one has the glue loose in the middle and I have to reglue it.
...being the lazy bastard I am, i bought one of the wood ones from Amazon and its been pretty nice.
