Today I received my white body Filco TKL Linear R Limited Edition.  Took a few pictures of it and my other white keyboards.  I hope the white balance comes out okay.

Here they are, in the same picture.  The white Filco is not white at all.  It is kind of milkish, if there is such a word.

I was going to have a smart ass title for the post.  But I didn't, to avoid comments like yours.  Didn't you just trade your white Filco to a black 86U?  ;)

I would without doubt kill you for your setup.

I still need a Filco Tenkeyless White and a White 87U to complete my collection !

PS: White balance looks alright to me - slightly ivory white IBM, white realforce and milky Filco.

I just compared the white Filco to my Filco 47 white keycap set that I bought from taobao back in April.  they are of the same shade of white.  The ducky seems to be the brightest white of all, from the recent picture I saw.  will it be that white when it finally ships?

That must be the reason why it took Apple so long to release the white iphone4.

Oh yes.   Downstairs it looks much better.  The Duckys and Plums I believe are even whiter.

Stupid TN screens.

And notice never once did I blame Canon.

I used Expodisc to calibrate custom white balance, and with flash.  And I didn't bother to shoot RAW. That should get you going... :)  I really do need a white background for better shots.

I got it on taobao.com through taobaobee.com.  Details in this thread: http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?18484-New-Taobao-agent-taoboabee.com

It is quite expensive, even for a MX red board.  But it is white, which is only sold in China and stock seems to be very low.  It took me a long time and with taobaobee.com help to find a seller with it in stock.  This is the taobao seller where mine came from: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=10040540682.  If you want one, do a live chat on taobaobee.com to confirm the seller has it in stock first.

Thanks to you Titmouse for telling me what diatec.co.jp told you about the reds that were going to amazon.com.  It is true.  The Filco 104 MX red is back in stock, but there is no more Filco tenkeyless MX red.  Because of what you told me, I decided to get one from China and to get the white one since it is about the same price and it is rare.

A seller on ebay just started selling Filco red (in black).  http://cgi.ebay.com/Filco-87-key-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-MX-Cherry-RED-/300566345983?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item45fb2678ff

This seems to be the best deal at the moment. keyboardco.com has no more tenkeyless reds.

Actually right now there is a seller on eBay that has two white Filcos tenkeyless' with red switches in stock. I'm so tempted but I really cannot justify buying anymore keyboards.......I cannot.  I have the tenkeyless with reds right now and it's my favorite although currently it has the black keys. This week I should have my second set of white PBT keycaps and they are bright white and really do look super cool when contrasted against the black background.  So although it is killing me, I'll refrain and some other geekhacker can jump right on eBay and scoop up one of those white Filcos.

I did.  Together with a buddy who also have gone insane.  I think we will share a padded room when they put us into an insitution.  I paid $280 to get the one from taobao via taobaobee.com.  This ebay seller is cheaper.

Are the Ducky casings made from ABS or PBT? Anyone knows this?

I think it is made of ABS, because PBT plastic easily cracks.

I know.  But at the time (2 weeks ago), the only place I could find white Filco reds  is taobao.  It is still expensive on ebay.  But cheaper relatively.

You are way too funny but I know exactly where you are coming from.  I really had to work hard not to go ahead and purchase one of the white Filcos on ebay.  But for me as much as I have a hard time holding back from buying keyboards, I'm also a nut about not having extra stuff lying around.  For now all of my keyboards have a place and get used on a regular basis.  If I were to buy one more, one would be hanging around or put away and for me that wouldn't be right.  My husband thinks I'm way overboard with this keyboard thing as it is.  Waiting on one more package (white PBT keycaps)...........

nhwhaup, if you like white keyboards, like the 86U you have, you will like the white Filco reds.  Let me help on how to justify the purchase.  The white Filco reds is only sold in China with a limited run.  When it is gone, it is gone forever (just keep telling yourself that, I do).  You can buy the white one now and sell the black one that you already have.  It is a little more money, but it is an upgrade.  See?  ;)  it is a win-win.

Someone said earlier on this thread that white is the new black.

Litster - you really are killing me. I actually have gone back on eBay like 4 more times but who's counting.  My black tenkeyless will be sporting PBT white keys by the end of this week and that will keep my keyboard addiction at bay for a while. I just wish someone would hurry up buy those two that are showing on eBay.

Are there any white, tenkeyless, mx red, non-filco keyboards out there?

And where to buy?
