I don't consider myself a huge fan, but the last one really impressed me. Some of the earlier ones are sorta forgettable, just like three straight hours of CGI quiddich.

Actually, I thought Draco Malfoy stole the show in the last one (in a good way). When he was practicing with the magic cabinet thing, you could see the weight of his responsibility just crushing him. He looked like he was covering for Atlas on his day off.

I liked to watch Emma grow more beatiful by every movie, but I'm not a big fan of the lesbian haircut she has now.

I don't like Harry Potter, and I don't like movie theaters. So, I won't be seeing this movie any time soon.

All the dust in the background's gotta make them sneeze. No wonder why it's called the Order of the Kleenex.

i don't read novels, so someone sell me on the harry potter franchise. never watched a single one, just something my fiancee and i never got into, i'm afraid the first few movies are gonna be like kiddy so i'll hate it, actually i think for some reason i think of them as eps 1-3 (even tho i watched 4-6 like everyone else old school style). So like are the first few gonna suck ass?

I want to see it, but I'm not jumping out of my seat.

I don't know why but I felt no excitement about Half Blood Prince and I still have not seen it.

I saw the movie 2 days ago.

/Sarcasm on

What I love is how when they want to introduce a new character they don't over-complicate things and keep the narration simple. They just say:

Person X to Person Y: "Have you heard any news about [new character], recently? I heard that he/she ...."

Person Y: "Yeah, he/she is totally gay..."

Harry P: "Excuse me, who is [new character] should I know if him/her?"

Person X: "You don't know [new character] ?!? Why let me tell you about him/her!"

And then follows a description of the character and its exploits in the past and why it is relevant to Harry P.

An even better example:

Person X to "The Crew" [H, H and R]: "I think this was mentioned in the story of [new concept that explains ****]. Of course you are familiar with it..."
Hermione: "Yes"
Ron: "Yes"
Harry P: "No?"
Person X: "Why then let me tell you!"
Hermione: "I have the book right here in my bag of holding!"

And then it's story telling time.

This style of narration is just so awesome and inventive !!!

/sarcasm off

The movie provided a few good laughs. Shallow, simple Hollywood entertainment, nothing fancy. Relatively solid, not worth a second watch at all.

They must have been talking about Dumbledore.   I'm pretty sure he's the only gay character.
I miss Richard Harris, thought he was better in the role.  Heck even Ian McKellen might have been better than Michael Gambon.  But Gambon is finally starting to grow on me,.  The Character is supposed to be a brilliant, wise, even noble wizard, eccentric, humorous, even whimsical, the epitome of goodness yet capable of being subtle, cunning & covert.  I thought Harris displayed all of this.  Gambon, especially at first, seemed nervous, twitchy, unfocused, lacking depth.

Michael Gambon has the advantage over Richard Harris in that he's not dead.  Richard Harris struck me as old and feeble.

Hah, I almost said that any live actor has an edge over dead ones.  And true Richard Harris was getting old and feeble, but I still thought he pulled it off.

I think you wouldn't be too far off with that Ripster.

All Reddit does is repost stuff from 4chan, which is generally reposts from earlier points in 4chans life.

Someone should tell Curic to just go straight to the source, straight to 4chan. I'm sure it would be entertaining.

As for the movie, I've not been much impressed by the movies at all. The most recent was certainly better than the Order of the Phoenix (or whatever), but the whole Half Blood Prince (the damn title of the movie) was basically boiled down to a single line. Which more or less undermined the character of Snape an incredible amount.

Just too Hollywood, as Senor Cartmenez explained.

General consensus seems that it was done well but it's a setup film for the ending (like duh).

Am I really the only one that was bugged by the narration techniques used in some instances?

Again: "Do you know this story?"
          "nope"
"why let me tell you then!"

8.5/10 on IMDb, which is high for that site. I don't pay much attention to Rotten Tomatoes; I say watch it yourself and decide. "Goodbye Lenin!" is another good one.

Watching Unforgiven.  Even nearly 10 years  before the first Harry Potter movie, Harris was looking pretty old playing the "Duck of Death".

Finally saw the movie at a matinee.  Evening shows were sold out.

Overall rating:  4 out of 5 stars
Acting: 5 stars (really enjoyed the child actors growing up and the always stellar British crew)
Directing: 4 stars (the Horcrux tale was cleverly done)

Yeah, it was decent, but it fell short of the better Harry Potter films (btw, rip, is it you doing this?)

Most important rating:

Boobs:  2 out of 5 boobs.  Some silvery misty naked shots of Hermione.  1 undressed Ginny but back only.

Rip, you like them young, eh?

I seez.

I will let her know bout that. Prolly gonna freak and ask her parents to send some of those puppitz to GER.

Which in turn will result in me buying ****loads of chocolates, cookies, pretzels and other German stuff and send a package to Indonesia that runs me 100€ for sending alone.

Maybe I will not pass on this knowledge after all. Awesome face almost had me convinced there...
