GB Participants - there is a fix kit that will be produced in the near future and sent to those who joined the buy. As far as I know it will also be included in any extras that are eventually sold as well. That said, here is the kit:

Welcome to the Group Buy thread for PBT Græn [ɡrān]

First, and most most importantly: thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, leave feedback, give praise, or share your disdain for this - I love and appreciate it all.

There has been concern about the shortness of the IC to GB and whether we intended to collect and actually honor feedback.
I am laying out decisions to let you know we have read the feedback, all of which we appreciate, whether we're changing things or not.
Please understand this project is something I started in November and much of it was already decided for one reason or another based on original intent
My apologies - I know much was not accommodated.

We are adding umbrella novelties, an R3 pgup, and an R4 pgdn
Proposed adjustments we did not change:
   2u "+" numpad accents - some felt strongly about this, but we've decided to keep them for funzies
   accent arrows in base - to be consistent with most of the accents outside of the original vision, these will remain in the add-on kit
   Full on kits for French, NorDe, International, blanks, ergo, etc. - to be honest, even if we put all of these into one giant kit it wouldn't hit MOQ and the price would be higher than than desired
   I know some folks don't like the "<--Bksp" key - I happen to think it's hekkin cute and am keeping it, personally

Yes, the kits are, in fact, huge. That's the way Infinikey works and how they factor in their MOQ - for some, this seems like a waste to buy such a large kit to use so few keys, a la planck users.

The name - I am aware of how the aesch is pronounced - I used it in a way I thought was "clever" to nod at the fact that the set can seem both green and gray. Thank you for pointing out that it's wrong, but I made an AESTHETIC choice here <3

Finally, there were a lot of comments for more accents or and additional/different modifier and alpha kits - it's just not the vision I wanted.

I hope none of you take offense, and if you do: I'm sorry. Either buy the set or don't - I'm still gonna be your fwen if you like.

May I ask why did you choose a EU proxy located in Great Britain?

Why not a proxy on mainland Europe? Like MyKeyboard from Belgium, or Candykeys from Germany?

The price for Europeans is in GBP, so 92GBP == 106.95Eur == 116USD (according to the store, if I select different currencies). On top of this, Great Britain, being an island, has some of the most expensive shipping rates to the rest Europe.

Fair question. I feel like regardless of which vendor I choose in the EU/UK space is going to have drawbacks like this. As far as I'm aware, a large preponderance of community members are in Britain and this would be the same case for them if the vendor was someone like mykeyboard.eu. Also, to be candid, not all the proxies are always chosen by the designer.

I am a fan of Proto[typist] and I honestly don't feel great about those in the EU having to pay additional money as a result. I'm sorry about that - I really wish they hadn't exited the EU, but I will for sure add this as a factor in choosing proxies in the future.

Try not to hold it against me, but I understand if you do and also don't join the buy knowing how much additional you'll have to pay as a result of this. I hope you're safe and well <3

Difference in price is broadly VAT - $95 for the Keyset in the US = ~$114 when you add on VAT which is approx £92 or €104 as I write this. However; you save in the fact that shipping is way more expensive from the USA to EU than from UK to EU and you would have to pay VAT on US shipping cost as well, plus your couriers standard charge.

In terms of where you buy from in the EU - of course shipping prices are always going to be different, but only marginally so, and still cheaper than a set imported from the US. UK folks often feel the same when the vendor is CK or MyKeeb. Shipping in a world of Covid19 is also increasing in cost, which also needs to be borne in mind.

actually when i found the link i posted, i recalled i paid 95 and 35 for the mega addon... i just paid without thinking checking the price listed on other proxies... maybe u can contact them to see if price is listed wrongly?

Shipping ETA is July 2020 according to TKC's website. Most proxies just say Q3 2020.

i ordered both sets and im super pumped either way, but: do we know whether the caps are going to be the green in the main renders or the gray/blue in the render with the model car in the background? trying to decide on what to purchase to match the set in terms of case colors and artisans

Jae (TopClack) just showed the set on stream and apart from the too high sitting arrow key legends the set looks absolutely perfect.
There is no color fading or any major defects visible on the set and the legends are perfectly aligned.
It's probably just the ****ty lighting in the pics on that zF post.
(What even did this quy try to prove there by comparing the keycap to the box color??? lmao)

I totally get your point.

But I don't think that a manufacturer should be completely ruled out from custom sets just because they made some lower quality stuff as well.
ePBT used to make lower quality clone sets too but their groupbuy sets are usually much higher quality than the stuff that they used to sell on Aliexpress.

The dented keycap is indeed not cool. But so far that seems to be a single case. Not the standard.

And to be honest with you, shining a light through a dye sublimated keycap doesn't prove anything.
Light will always shine through them since they are simple white plastic that just has a layer of dyed plastic on top.
Even my PBT MT3 keycaps shine through when I put a bright phone flashlight under them. And those are thick af.

To be fair, I have own quite a bit of keysets, Infinikey so far have the highest defect rate. I have yet to received a single kit from them that doesn't have anything wrong. Ranging from half broken key to wrong printing.
I have ePBT side by side, and Infinikey definitely feels cheap to type on, also with slight warp on almost every key (Including the alpha)

If I would know Infinikey is "無铭诚品", I wouldn't even put money into it in first place as I have experience with their stuff before.
The only difference is GB keys seem to have slightly better dyesub, and that is about it.......

I thought people learned to stay away after all the red flags concerning tkc and infinikey, hope it was a lesson for all of you

When I forwarded issues to TKC (in public, it was on TC's discord, you can probably search the discord for exact quotes) in regards to infinikey, the just shunned me stating:
"Our customers don't have the same high standards as you do"
So in 1 line they called their own customer base peasants while also admitting that their product is trash

When I asked what they are doing to make sure their sets will be free of issues moving forwards
"We can't guarantee the next set will be better, but if you don't buy our products then we can't fix it"
So basically they want you to blindly buy and pray it'll be better (spoiler alert, it won't) so that MAYBE it'll get better in the future. They don't care

Now you know. Steer clear from infinikey and tkc

Did not join this GB since it didn't support my ISO-DE layout but I hope this colorway will get rerun with a more stable manufacturer ( Maybe KAT :rolleyes: ). Really like the look of the set and it would be a shame if it fell by the wayside cuz of a suboptimal manu.

every keycap manufacturer has issues.

kat has issues as seen with milkshake (off centered legends), possibly spacebars being outside cherry spec enough to make certain stabs like c3 not work with KAT.

gmk has had issues with crooked stems (gmk olive), known legend issues that won't be addressed as they are part of the mold (like scroll, z, etc), legend quality issues (gmk wob and bow extension kit had issues, oblivion mods had issues - thankfully in both cases gmk did deliver corrections), and with newer sets, more space bars appear to be warped with GMK getting feedback but being largely silent so far. not to mention the new gmk packaging is bleh.

it seems tkc is working with infinikey on improving the keysets. yes, it does suck a bit to be guinea pigs, but here are some things they have done:
1. packaging is better than gmk.
2. will re-run BoW mods as the font size was not to their specification. people who bought BoW should be getting replacement mods in a few months (i hope)
3. acknowledged alignment issues with mod legends, have implemented a fix starting with sets after hive (yes it does suck that for sets prior to hive and including hive may not have better aligned mods)
4. acknowledged homing bar issues and other issues. are willing to work with infinikey to make new molds
5. keep a ton of spare space bars in case of warp.

anyway, i am sure TKC has given bad responses, but their actions also indicate they are working on improving the product.

I am still waiting for Sanctuary's cap replacement as well from the GB. Rather than exchange my set directly for my, they sold off all the extra and let those who have issues wait on Infinikey to do something about it.

Been waiting for a replacement caps. All other vendor do a direct exchange for the entire set and no wait time like this......
At this point I doubt they will ever deliver the replacement cap. These caps are far worse quality than ePBT. It's hard to believe they actually charged more than 50 bucks for budget caps, or they simply charge extra for custom color and box.

Just wanted to add my two cents. I am quite happy with the my Græn set.

Got my set yesterday. Looked it over pretty thoroughly and now have it on my main daily keyboard. My set is perfect other than some very slight warping on one of the space bars in the add-on set (fortunately one that I was not planning to use). I also have Infinikey BRED and, while I was satisfied with that set, I had a couple more substantial issues with that one.

So, at least for me, I have been satisfied with two different Infinikey sets and their quality control appears to be improving.

Also, there seems to be issues with people receiving more or less keys than what they should've, and some keys having severe fading on all sides. All of this can be found on their discord channel.

Thankfully they're looking to replace all the keys for those affected.

That backspace key looks unevenly dyed and scuffed. Infinikey sure has issues it is acceptable only if TKC is covering/replacing them

I also got mine, looks fine to me. Slight fade from top to bottom of the keys if you looks close, but nothing I worry about when mounted to a board.
Only think I would have wished for, would have been a bit darker colors on the deskmat. Looks a bit faded.

Received this as my first Infinikey set in Australia today from SwitchKeys as a surplus to a GB. I liked the poetic nature of the set, it's rather understated and muted tones and the melding of green and gray conceptually, and I was looking for something other than the ABS of GMK.
First impressions: Packaging is slick, and really compliments the set.
Comments on the set itself:
Overall finishing is good, no overt burrs on the edges of keys, the undersides are neat and tidy. One only flaw on the front of F12 with uneven finishing. Picture attached.
I echo the comment above that there is fading top to bottom on the front of some keys. Mine are Backspace, R Shift, L Shift and L Code. Pic of one attached.
Three out of four spacebars are definitely not level when laid down (do you call this warped)? Pictures attached.
More pertinent is the size and alignment of the Alpha legends. I need more experienced eyes than my newbie ones to tell me if I am seeing things. Pics attached.
1 seems lower than it should be.
Q and T seem higher, maybe Y seems higher, or W seems lower.
What do you think of the ASD row, D a bit low?
X definitely looks smaller than it should to me.

How do the vendors usually deal with these issues if they indeed are issues?
I guess the spacebar can be heated with a hairdryer and levelled out. The F12 finishing? It's just one that I found at this time without inspecting every single one.

What about the alignment and smaller than expected legends?
