Looks like a black variant is available also:

These are interesting POS keyboards with a magstrip reader and an ISO enter on an otherwise ANSI layout, and look to be new in box. In my experience, they come with browns or clears and the letter in the article number only describes the connector. Personally, I've got a beat up G80-8200LPBUS / 04 from 1998 with clears, and an even worse shape G80-8200LPBUS-2 / 02 from 2006 with browns. The pictured board is from 2007, so I'm expecting browns, but with multiple available the seller may have older ones also.

I want to say they're programmable with cherry tools, but I haven't messed around with it. I picked up one for my collection, I'll report back when it gets here.

Wow, $29.00 + shipping for NIB G80s, that's a great deal.

According to DT's Cherry article number page, the P in this model number indicates they have MX Black switches. Maybe there are exceptions, though. In any case, it seems hard to go wrong with a deal like this... Thanks for pointing it out!

I now see references to numerous examples of this board with MX Clears—so I guess DT's page needs some editing.  :?)

Yeah, the manual states these should be brown, it's just a handful of the older boards that came with clears. I was able to get one even cheaper through make-an-offer, YMMV, but for the price it's a neat board for the collection or a great budget board to try browns for anyone that hasn't.

Wow, that was incredibly fast shipping. Got a board from 2007 with browns.

Does this G80 have a plate or not?

it shouldn't, only old G80s (pre G80-1000 and even after but they're not common) and Gamery G80s have plates IIRC

I got a black one for $20 + shipping https://www.ebay.com/itm/352470676551.  It was worth it, if only for the relegendable caps.

It has thick, laser etched caps, and MX Browns.  There is no plate, which makes it feel a little hollow, but actually gives the key clack a nice, resonant sound.

It's not quite black, more like a dark gray.  It would go well with Dolch.

But for them to be truly relegendable, wouldn't you have to put legends on them, then put different legends on them? Isn't it simpler to say they're legendable? Okay, I just wanted to italicize some stuff. But still.
