Hello there everybody! This the interest check for the JP-02 Arisu kit. The Arisu is an Alice-like layout, with the only difference being that Arisu layout boards have arrow keys.

Current Status
- The Port prototype top case, POM plate, prototype PCBs, and screws have arrived
- The Navy top and stainless steel sample are arriving in the next week
- Alexotos will be building a JP-02 on stream! It will be Navy top, brass bottom, with a POM plate. It will be built with Gateron Milky Yellows, lubed with 205g0 and filmed with Deskeys films.
Schedule:
- Build Stream with Alexotos on Tuesday, January 12 at 4 PM PST
- Navy Top, Brass Bottom, POM Plate, Durock stabilizers, Holy Boba switches (lubed with Tribosys 3203 and filmed with Deskeys films)
- Groupbuy within 2 weeks of the build stream
Details of the JP-02
- Arisu Layout (Alice, but with arrow keys)
- Seamless design
- Top/Burger Mounted
- Typing angle of 5 degrees
- Silicone gasket between plate and top case
- 3mm Felt Accoustic Dampener between plate and PCB
- Uses a modified Arisu PCB by u/FateNozomi: The PCBs that will be sold with the JP-02 will have USB Type-C ports, full backspace compatibility, and stepped capslock compatibility
PCB Specs:
- 2 layers
- FR4
- Red Solder Mask
- White Silkscreen
- HASL finish
- 1 oz copper
- Full Backspace and Stepped Capslock support
- QMK and VIA support!
The color options are...
- Silver Top with Brass Bottom
- Port Top with Brass Bottom
- Navy Top with Brass Bottom
- Gray Top with Stainless Bottom
- Black Top with Stainless Bottom
The bottom case will be beadblasted stainless steel/brass
- Neither part will have a PVD coating, to allow natural maturation of the brass.
- If you're not one of those who enjoys tarnish, you can easily remove the tarnish using either a combination of lemon juice + baking soda or a commercial metal cleaner such as Brasso.
- Bottom cases will also be available seperately in both material options
Confirmed plate materials are brass and POM, and plate files will be open sourced following the groupbuy.
Groupbuy Information
- Estimated MoQ: 100
- Format will be FCFS on JLabs.co (https://jlabs.co/), my upcoming storefront
- PCBs, Plates, and bottom cases are available as unlimited extras
- Each JP-02 will include a custom carrying case, as pictured in the prototype album
- Estimated Price: < $425 USD (I'm still sorting out a possible increase to the MOQ to get a better price)
- International Shipping may be available depending on interest
To-Do List:

will that port be fixed?

will that port be fixed?
Yes, it has been fixed.

Looks great. I'm interested. Will the PCB include electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection?
-
The Arisu layout also doesn't have a 2nd B, with the NM,. row shifted by 0.25u

Correct, I'll add that to the post. Thanks!

Yup, it uses the USBLC6-2SC6 for protection! You can read more about it here (https://geekhack.org/www2.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/CD00050750.pdf).

100 MoQ, <$425? For brass or ss bottom?
How thin is the bottom piece? How much does the bottom piece weigh? What is the fully assembled mass?
This is very fair pricing, my concern is whether it will be maintained.

Hah, yeah a bit older than that...

Awesome to see this getting ever closer to a GB!
There's a little more history of the case design on the Making Stuff Together thread: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=106268.0 the JP-02 was derived from.

The bottom piece is 3.5mm thick, and the mass of an alu top + brass bottom is 2kg. An alu top + stainless bottom is slightly lighter than that. The total built mass will be closer to 2.5kg. The current plan is for the groupbuy to have a Minimum Order Quantity of 100 and a Maximum Order Quantity of 150. I also plan to offer incremental discounts as the number of units sold increases (maybe at 125 and 150). $425 would be the pricing at 100 units, the minimum.

Ah that gives a lot of perspective, thank you.

International shipping + wrist rest plis
-
Very interested. Please consider providing a tailored wrist rest at the same time as the GB.

Hotswap?

Hotswap?
Unfortunately not, however, the PCB is compatible with MillMax hotswap sockets, which will not be included.
Very interested. Please consider providing a tailored wrist rest at the same time as the GB.
I may end up running the wrist rest shortly after the groupbuy for the board goes live. Further updates will be posted here (on Geekhack), Reddit, and my Discord server.
International shipping + wrist rest plis
International shipping will be available! See my earlier response regarding wrist rests. Have a good day, and Happy New Year!

Great looking keyboard. Any chance that you would add the option of a split left shift (2.25 to 1.25 + 1)?

No, split left shift will not be an option.

This looks awesome.
I have always been curious about trying an Alice style board but I can't live without arrow keys so this is perfect.
The IC form says port top with stainless bottom but this thread says brass bottom. Which one would it be?
I hope the port color is similar to the prototype. The renders appears almost brown to me.
And happy to see that Europe shipping is confirmed. And same as others I'd happily purchase a wrist rest.
Would have loved hotswap as an option, but millmax support is better than nothing.

Yeah, Port will ship with brass bottoms. Thanks for pointing out the mistake on the IC form! The prototype is an example of the final color, please excuse my bad renders. Wrist rests will probably run shortly after the board GB, but ship in the same box.

OMG, you add a ten key to this, and I will give you my moneys.
