Not that big of a deal, but has anyone else noticed that their post counter is stuck?

I noticed that I have the same post count as I did the day before yesterday, and I've posted at least 10 time that should have counted.
The mods froze them to stem the tide of people going for 50 posts to get into the brocaps sale.

Ah, I didn't read about that.  Thanks  :)

Sorry for the confusion.  :-[  It was a pretty low-key move on our part.  :P

So despite people's estimates, I might not make 20,000 before the end of the year.

That bothers me in no way whatsoever. :p

Indeed, the constant warnings are annoying. You should be able to install that expired cert on your local machine so that it will always be trusted. Not that, that is a good idea, but in this case you know it is just expired and not something more nefarious.

I will google this as I am technologically challenged when it comes to that stuff.

Thanks for the advice

Some thread still won't get read sometimes.

Refer to this :

When I browse through Unread or Watched, if the last replay is very recent (2-3 minutes) the topic won't get marked as read. If I come back to it minutes later it will. But if during the 2-3 minutes after the reply I go several time to this thread it will never get marked as read, only after I reach this "invisible time" limit.
I'm not sure if I'm being clear.

Although if I browse a thread from spy, I can click it a second after a new reply, it will be marked read.

GL

Still happening.

Hmm I've had this happen but I never put two and two together with them all being very recent.

FWIW, I started noticing this when GH first came back up after switching servers.

Still problems regarding threads not being marked as read.
It seems that today I rollbacked a lot of reading done last night.

Mmm that is not good. Could possibly do a SQL injection with that kind of vulnerability.

Could it bs a symptom of a dodgy internet connection?

it happens at work and at home, both connections seem fine... I'll post a reply or send a pm (it happens pretty randomly) and the page will just hang... refresh and it's either posted/pm'd or reloaded the reply box...

We have a new member with a Cyrillic name.

https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=79139

Looks like the forum software doesn't like his name as it has shrunk the font size down as it would for a much longer name, although this member's name is fairly short.

Is this a side-effect of Unicode characters looking like two ASCII characters or something?

I have to "UNNOTIFY" then "NOTIFY" every so often for the IC/GB boards, anyone experience this?

No really,  it just stops sending out e-mails after a certain time.

I would expect significant delays, not a total absence of them.

This afternoon I was still getting Clackvent emails trickling in.  That is for a sale that took place, say, around 10 hours ago.

Update: I JUST received an email notification (for a Clackvent thread update) that was apparently SENT just over 4 days ago.

Date sent: 09-Mar-2016 17:02

Current date (for me): 13-Mar-2016 21:19

Although looking at the SMTP headers suggests that it was processed only very recently, so there's probably a huge mail backlog on the GH server.

Is there some issue with post count incrementing (the one shown on the left side) versus the actual post count shown when viewing a user's post history? Mine is significantly less than my "actual" post count, and I promise I haven't been spamming...

Just noticed mine go up when I posted in the bug report and feature requests, is there some kind of elaborate algorithm going on? It'd be nice to know how it works at least haha

Subforums not directly related to keyboards do not count posts.  Off topic, Classifieds, New Members, etc.

how about the artisan services? A majority of my posts are in there and I don't think they've counted. Or do you mean the entire marketplace?

Artisan Services does not add to your post count.

Basically the entire marketplace, but I don't remember if it's all or some.

Notification emails arrive in 5 days for me, anyone else experience the same thing?

So when someone replies to a thread, or sends a PM, I notice it after ~ 5 days

Unfortunately it is because of the mass amount of emails the server is sending out, due to clackvent.
