No CDN?
« on: Mon, 09 November 2015, 17:34:05 »
with the recent ddos in august, wouldn't it make sense to get a cdn such as cloudflare?

cloudflare has a free and paid plan, and I find that the free plan works quite well(i'm using it to host keychatter with nginx on a digitalocean vps).

the pro plan is $20, but the free plan also works quite well. https://www.cloudflare.com/plans/

a cdn should reduce server load and encrypt all elements with https, and cloudflare supports spdy/http2

We should actually go back to BBS & modems, removal from the inter-webs altogether.

I'm with this guy. What is the direct dial number for Geekhack? I have a bunch of text files on floppies somewhere I could upload. :)

Gotta turn off that call waiting. I used to hate being in the middle of a huge 1MB download on my 2400, when the line would disconnect because I forgot to disable call waiting.

It seemed so extravagant back then. Now paying ~$100/mo. for Internet service is par for the course.
