I'll only take one piece.  :D
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

That's a really good use for those bags. I usually just throw them away.

Are those really RGB switches? The pins look don't look bronzish, and the base looks like those Gaote switches.

Has Corsair/Cherry been lying to us with their fully clear enclosures? :))

Well I actually went out and purchased a K65 to harvest them, so they better be! They actually have a hole in the bottom to let the light shine through better. Also, as far as I can tell the top part is a new, stiffer material from the black housings we know. It was a bit harder to take them apart. The pins look typical silver color to me.

These macro shots are deceiving! Base of the switch doesn't look quite the same colour wise.

Yep, those are definitely different from what I got. The ones I harvested have standard pins and a more opaque bottom enclosure. But yeah, it does have that hole where the led goes but on the bottom enclosure instead of the top.

At least the light from the K65 shines through them just fine, but yeah I was definitely disappointed once I saw the bottom housings. </3

Zeal, I  think the product shots look different because of how they're lit.

That's interesting.  Are they like the AboStudio tops then?

They are actually much better than the AboStudio tops. They are made from a harder material but have similar levels of transparency.

Cherry is on left and AboStudio is on right.

Unfortunately I can't put them through stress tests because I need every cover that I have lol.

EDIT: Sorry, allow me to explain a bit further. You are probably wondering how I know that the Cherry tops are made from a harder material. When I take apart switches I use two small flathead screwdrivers to simultaneously loosen the "legs" from one side of the bottom housing. I found it much harder to flex the legs on the new cherry tops. Also, when I am taking apart switches using AboStudio tops I can almost ALWAYS find bend marks (white lines or auras) where the legs were flexed. This has yet to happen with me regarding the Cherry tops. :]

Thanks for the picture comparison! It seems like Cherry clear tops are a "warmer" shade of clear?

The clear housings are presumably polycarbonate, while the black housings are.. Delrin? PBT?

The quality of the PCB and the aluminum plate is not really good, i had to re-solder 2 diodes, cut the aluminum plate because of ISO Enter not fitting perfect. The case is very nice, especially for its price; it's the 60$ 60% case from Pexon. Here's a close up from the cut aluminum plate:

Next time i will get a 60% PCB like the Nerd 60 or similar one for sure!

They used to be. Until that eBay seller got his hands on some stock. They were quite cheap at first, like €50 or so, then he found out why there suddenly was so much demand and he increased prices.
They're actually really fun boards, lubed MX Clears, pcb-mounted and screw-on stabilizers. And an awesome set of keycaps to boot. ;)

Finally got the keys for my mechanical keyboard in the mail today, and that means that I am using a mechanical keyboard for the first time ever! It feels very nice and I have seen my typing speed increase from around 105 to 115 or so. But at first I was making a lot of errors. It is pretty difficult to adjust to the smaller form factor of my new keyboard.

The white background accents the switch and spring, beautiful shot m8!

The picture was originally meant to emphasize my gold plated sockets for LEDs.  :p But I agree, it's a good picture! If only I had a macro lens....SoonTM

Had a few other shots but they didn't really work. I'll try again later.
