For those with Duck boards now, is the 11 degree angle comfortable to use? I know it's a preference like all things, I just worry it might be a bit of a shock to me since I'm used to using a much lower angle.

Would the price vary depending on the bottom you take or would they all be the same price?

Price will vary. Full alu will be the most expensive. Flat acrylic will be the cheapest.
I wonder how it would look wiyh the flat acrylic and the bottom led.

That link should show you exactly what you're looking for.
Thank you. It looks cool.
To summarize all 3 bottoms:

Note that ALPs PCB will be different than MX's.
Damn they the full ALU or the acrylic bottom are so nice. It is hard to choose. I'm going to regret this one as I don't have money for it ATM. Is it a one time sale or can you order it afterwards if you go through the website you linked?

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a one time deal, or you'll have to get one aftermarket... and it will hurt your wallet even more.

Pretty sure, nop.

It's a one time sale (= groupbuy).
I was not talking about this sale thread but more like in general as I assume we would not be the only one buying it. Especially since it is done towards the Korean community as it seems.

it's the same process anywere: the creator takes orders for a limited amount of time, then produces as many kits as required. if he makes some extra kits/has leftovers and sell them on his website, you can bet they'll be snapped up within a short period of time.

that's how custom boards retain their exclusivity. not having money is one thing, but delaying a purchase in hopes of it being available after the GB period is generally a bad idea if you really want the product

My Viper is comfortable to use and I haven't had a problem adjusting to it.

I have used butterfly keypad from Duck, and it's 11 degree.  I personally prefer 12 degree, but 11 degree is actually pretty good to type on as well.  But it would also depend on what keycaps profile you used on it.

Thanks Jonathan! I was most worried about unneeded wrist extension, but I'm sure I could adjust pretty quickly! :)

What alu color would go nice with hyper fuse gmk or dolch gmk

Silver will look good with Hyperfuse probably, and black would look good with Dolch.

What about the blue grey ?

Based on the images we've seen so far, silver and blue-grey are confirmed. I personally want blue-grey so that's awesome, but hopefully there will be one or two more color options.

That'd be cool because I heard you have a hard time soldering those.

Edit: forgot to ask. How long will the GB be running?

The temp-controlled Hakko or Weller kits are preferred here. Aoyue is a decent budget alternative.

I agree, but there are definitely so many pro tricks that make it much easier even if you only have a soldering iron.

I had no idea how I was going to solder the tiny diodes on my GON board with only an iron and no flux but it wasn't that hard after I watched a few videos and learned some tricks from youtube.

Without youtube though, it would be super frustrating and might feel like you need a third arm to do the task - one to hold component in place, one to hold iron, and another to feed in solder.

I'm sorry to crash this thread, but you Orion folks are my best hope at getting some information. Namely Full-Size Korean Custom Keyboards I see a lot of action for Orion, Viper, tx1800, lightsaver and etc but besides Gon's work, I've yet to see a really high quality full size. If any of you could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

GONs NERD108 is the only full size Korean custom I know about. There are others that have all the functionality of a full size like the Lightsaver and TX1800, but they aren't standard full size boards.

If you looked through the prototypes and the thread, you will see there are at least 3 different versions..including a flat one with a clear acrylic base.
