We're trying to get some write ups on Filco keyboards as part of our marketing attempts.
We sent one to a well known gamer/high end user magazine, and they didn't even know what NKR is. As a result, a pretty ordinary review appeared - unfortunately before we could 'educate' them. (3 out of 5 they gave it!!!)
Does anyone know a nice simple way to demonstrate NKR - or a game where it really is apparent what an advantage there is.
I know the credit card test but I really need something a little more 'real world' or 'real game'.

Fun suggestions also very welcome. Best entries win my undying gratitude.

The Filco was made in response to elite Asian gaming groups and users, a cry for a better keyboard. These Asian gamers are the most hardcore out there and know exactly what they want. Made in close cooperation - stress tested in gaming tournaments. The resulting Filco is therefore the best and most hardcore gaming board in history - a winning mix of German engineering and Asian gaming pioneering. You, prospective reviewer and buyer, are not a True Gamer if you do not realize why this keyboard is totally superior. We, Filco, don't even have to explain this to people, you will read our site and will do the explaining for us, to others, to show off how much of a True Gamer you really are.

webwit, this is genius. Did you write it?
Can I use it?

There's a career in marketing with your name written on it webwit. You just need to stop worrying about this fact/fiction thing.

How many people use the standard controls in PC games?  I used to re-map just about everything, especially since I used a Nostromo.  I'm not being contentious, just asking an honest question.

Lol, yeah I wrote it, and released it immediately in the public domain as a work of pure fiction.

That was far more entertaining than it should have been =D

Found another use for N-key.  He's using Fruity Loops and a regular keyboard.  This means he is limited to simple chords and without flatted sevenths.... well, it just ain't the blues.

geee... great another fun and addicting keboard related endevour =P

Nope, once again I have nothing to contribute :S

Do what Majestouch does and post a few reviews on your site from blogs or forums. OCN, here... and I'm sure you'll find some around if you google.

You guys are right, we need to work up some reviews and feedback. Everyone who has brought a Filco has been really happy with it, and you can't beat a Happy Customer as a sales tool.

Was really pleased last week to see Sal at geek.com shows an appreciation of decent keyboards in his write up.

I fear attempts to illuminate for the benefit of our UK product review 'journalists' will usually be met with total apathy. I have had the pleasure of dealing with many over the years, and barring a couple of pleasant exceptions, our compatriots are too consistent in their lack of professionalism and arrogance. Far too many are also, quite frankly, as thick as pig **** :tsk: The French, Italians, Americans, Germans, Scandinavians and others I've dealt with shame ours.

It always disappoints when good products get poor reviews because reviewers can't be arsed, but so many crap products get good write ups despite obvious and glaring faults

Hi Guys.
Another nice review here.
http://blog.gadgethelpline.com/filco-majestouch2-nkr-104-keyboard-review/

So why is the review claiming to be on the 104 while at the same time pointing out that they really had the tenkeyless 87?  Nice review sure, but the guy is an idiot.

Does anyone know a nice simple way to demonstrate NKR - or a game where

I wanna know how a company like that could miss the fact the thing weighs 3 times more than other keyboards and has a completely different feel. What did they compliment the keyboard on, if anything at all?

The first time I realized I needed NKRO, was back in the day playing Tomb Raider 2. It was a common occurrence for Lara to just give up on living just because I pushed one key too many. Ever since then, every keyboard I bought, "gaming" or not, had the same issue. With the Filco, I haven't had any problems of the sort.

Unlike every other keyboard I've owned, the WASD keys don't end up feeling spongy after a few months. This thing is built like a tank.

The reason I bought my first mechanical is exclusively the NKRO feature of the keyboard.

It is impossible to play this game with only 2KRO, especially when you have to contol 4 mini games at the same time.
http://www.kongregate.com/games/IcyLime/multitask

Since then I broke the all-time record of 739 in this game.

Best of all Multitask 2 came out yesterday.
What a challenge! I have to control 6 mini games at the same time.

I should take a picture of the 5 adapters I have sitting in a box while my boards are all plugged in through USB and post it on OCN
Topre - 86U   |   Filco - Tenkeyless Linear Red
Filco - Tenkeyless Blue       |   Filco - Fullsize Non NKRO Blue (Work)

This dude was starting to piss me off.  Would not accept the fact that 6KRO might be good enough.

Wow. I'd be pissed too. SC2 is one of the few games where NKRO or even 6KRO does not matter. The pros used **** membrane boards and removed unused keys for the old SC:BW game. It's about the same for SC2. I know those chess keyboards are not NKRO or even 6KRO. All hotkeys are individually pressed and there are no combinations of keys needed. Regardless, USB is the way to go if you ever want to participate in any tourneys.

I agree. UK journalism leaves a bit to be desired. Not wanting to go too far OT - I remember a story from a Motorcycle Journalist who said he felt one reason British Motorcycle Manufacturers never improved their products to get to grips with Japanese Competition in the 60's was poor journalistic standards. As a junior, if he ever wrote anything nice about a Honda it went in the editor's bin. Meanwhile all the boy racers found a 250cc bike faster, cheaper and more reliable than anything British - so they snapped them up.
