Help installing MD DCS ErgoDox Keycaps
« on: Wed, 15 January 2014, 18:09:54 »
Hey, I'm having trouble installing these key caps and can't quite get the profile correct.

Could anyone here provide me with any tips or even photos? (: Possibly even a photo of there own DCS keycaps on an ErgoDox side on?

Thanks!
Where do you get the idea that an LZ-GH is basically a filco??

Does this help? Just a pic I found on the net when I was investigating ergodox keycaps.

Hey, checkout Gadel's post on the massdrop discussion thread for the buy. It's on page 6, there are pictures and the count for each type of keys. You should group them according to R1, R2, R3 and R4 from this document: http://keycapsdirect.com/pdfs/DCSFamily.pdf

Hope this helps ;)

I also got the DCS set, and I spent some time trying to figure what keys go where. After examining Gadel's post, this is my best guess after examining his counts and pictures:
http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/layouts/bac5562be53557966065172a30bf96f2
This layout is based on Signature Plastic's numbering.
I don't have my dox yet so I can't test this. The keys have writing on the bottom ("R1","R2","R3","R4"), but it seems to not match up to the document from Signature Plastics. It seems to be ordered the opposite: 43211 instead of 12344.
Hope this helps.

EDIT: It turns out I ended up with a completely wrong kit. The new, correct one I ended up with matches that layout, but the keys have no stamps on the bottom. They are also a slightly different color(darker than the old ones.) So please disregard the part about the opposite order.

On page 11 of the Massdrop discussion, there's a post by marshallb that links to http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/layouts/bac5562be53557966065172a30bf96f2 with the rows.
