Is there any possibility of adding more R5 keys in one of the kits?
R4 is way too steep if you primary hit bottom row modifiers with your thumbs, as is the case for most ortho boards.
Currently the only offering with any R5 is the ergo set, but it only includes 8.

Already addressed this, no plans for more R5 (with the exception of the spacebars when R4C is not available)

I would appreciate it if you could reconsider the R4 keys for ortho layout to be R5. I understand this can be a hard call on which key should go where, but for thumb keys, R4 is not comfortable without a 7 degree incline.

Edit: Looking at it again, the four bottom rows of displayed keys could be changed to R5 and it would be a win overall, unless I'm missing something and 40% users do want double R4.

MT3 was designed to be used with modern keyboards, which typically have a 5 to 7 degree inclination.  And the caps will be indeed uncomfortable if used with flat boards.

I won't be changing the modifier keys for any of the kits, and it is not consistent to swap them for one kit (40%) while keeping them for the rest, and I find that R4 is as comfortable on a 40% as it is on a TKL.

Just wanted to make note that I am currently typing on MT3 Godspeed with a slight decline instead of incline and it's very comfortable with R5 thumb keys.

From the source you linked, by Matt3o:

> If you instead like dead flat keyboards, the set won’t be any worse than –say– SA anyway.

Again, it's your call, but I don't think you should be flat out stating that MT3 is inherently uncomfortable for any keyboard without an incline, because me and other ortho users are finding it a comfortable profile on flat or keyboards with a negative tilt. Just not with R4 thumb keys.

I've already stated my position and made up my mind regarding row 5 keycaps, and I think it is clear that changing the kits and the row profile for just ortholinear keyboards is not going to happen.

In my reply I cited Matt3o mentioning that the profile was designed to be used with keyboards with an inclination, and then I pointed out my experience with MT3 and flat keyboards: I find it uncomfortable. If I can't state that MT3 is indeed uncomfortable with flat keyboards, then we can't do the opposite.

On the flip side, I can't type on MT3 without a positive tilt, hated it flat. So R4 bottom row works for me.

I know this is using a custom font, but do you think the mods would look good with /dev/tty alphas?

From the OP post..
Quote
MT3 Serika features Audacia, a bespoke typeface that is inspired by IBM beamspring terminals and Olivetti typewriters
So i suppose that the answer is "no"...

Doesn't make sense to me to use one font for the alphas and another one for the modifiers. It would be jarring.

Any reason why the i18l kit doesn't have the brackets etc. for Alt-Gr modifiers? The japanese alphas do have the "third" legend on the keys, so it's not a matter of space nor aesthetics. Personally I feel like it kind of misses the point if the brackets and squiggly braces etc. are not there.

The kit doesn't have Alt Gr legends otherwise it would almost double its size.

Yeah prices are solid. Especially with the breaks that I am guessing will get it. I'm feeling pretty good about final price for what I want in the 115-125 range which is great for the number of kits and keys I am interested in.

You will be charged as soon as the GB ends, no sooner.  Note that there may be complications if you use PayPal, see Drop's explanation.

Different per country.

VAT (e.g. 19% in Germany, 20% in UK) + processing fees (very different from country to country)

Regarding PayPal: I cannot recommend using PayPal for keycap drops. If you want to use Paypal, do not modify your order. Cancel it and place a new one.
