The Battlestar Galactica reboot was spectacular, without a doubt the best "re-" that has ever been produced.

I don't think that the quality remained consistent, from the time that they landed on the planet it never quite returned to its initial excellence.
Cognitive distortions are patterns of thought, typically automatic and unconscious, that cause an inaccurate, negative view of situations, people, and/or events. These include things like jumping to conclusions; black-and-white thinking; negative mental filtering; overgeneralizing; mindreading (incorrectly believing we know what others are thinking, what their motives are); and emotional reasoning (believing that if we are feeling something, or if what we are thinking is associated with a strong emotion, it must be true).

Just started both Battlestar Galactica and Brooklyn 99 (sp?).

For the first time on both of those or rewatching? Either way, you're in for a treat ^_^

First time for both. I was instantly engrossed in BSG. I started with the two-part and now I'm a few episodes into the show.

I'm loving it so far.

Darn, you’re making me want to re-watch it now, hehe. I’m half way through the second season of a re-watch of Fringe at the moment. Maybe I’ll add it to the list after that. I’ve nothing but time when it comes to watching stuff at the moment.

Bah, Battlestar dragged along too much.. They could've wrapped it up with Less mysticism. Tp4 h8s plots involving mysticism.

Tp4 hates plots involving mysticism.

I thought that whatever "mysticism" was in there was mostly mashed up with a kind of "hive mind" process that became more apparent as it went on, but yes, any sort of magic is a cheap plot cop-out.

PS - Fohat  HATES  TP4s stupid ignorant deliberate mis-spellings.

It ain' misspell,  dis' how Tp4 actually is talk.

Writing a proper hand, that would be a deliberate misrepresentation of Tp4s output pattern.

Loved this. It wasn't perfect but near enough to think about 10/10 . Great concepts, nicely acted , gets you thinking. Watched it every day all way through .

After watching Hinterland a few weeks ago and enjoying the Welsh vibe just watched two series of Hidden. Even Welsher than Hinterland, as in some bits are in Welsh with subtitles. Good TV, excellent atmosphere and music.

Has anyone watched 'Wanted'? Netflix just recommended it to me and I see it's 7.7 on IMDb, which is quite a good sign.

The 2008 Jolie, McAvoy vehicle or some new show I’ve not heard of yet?

A Dark Song. Again. I have seen it about 15 to 20 times now and it doesn't get old. To me, it feels like a Ufomammut album, but in movie form.

Trailer:

Rewatching The Madolorian. Somehow it's even better the second viewing. Those Western and Tribal vibes suit the show so well and the cinematography is fantastic. Great soundtrack too.

Watching Brooklyn 99 for the first time. It's a good background show, something you have going in the second monitor while you work. Some legitimately funny writing sometimes too. Love the Captain, Rosa is super hot, Gina is super annoying.

Also started s02 of What We Do In The Shadows. Still a great show so far.

It's weird how the blueprint for the modern sitcom has become what The Office did by writing and shooting them like reality shows.

Tiny Creatures on Netflix was not good imo. I don't understand the point of making a fake nature documentary and presenting it as real. It's all obviously staged and using aftereffects except where they are like throwing dirt on a scared mouse. Imposing this fake narrative on neutral entities like some are heroes and villains by setting up these staged events.

Watched the new Bill And Ted, it was fun, but odd.
They seemed to struggle with staying true to the original and yet current.

Robin's Wish
It's a documentary of Robin William's last years, it's good but bring a tissue box.

The new bill and ted,  I felt like they built up the song so much, it was near impossible to close the movie plot.   As if, they really needed to write the greatest song ever for the movie to make sense.

Recently saw the first and second season of Orphan Black, had anyone seen that one?
It's a sci-fi tv show about genetics with some drama, I quite liked the first two seasons!
Also, if anyone has similar show recommendations that would be nice:)

The Battlestar Galactica reboot was spectacular, without a doubt the best "re-" that has ever been produced.

I don't think that the quality remained consistent, from the time that they landed on the planet it never quite returned to its initial excellence.

I didn't know they were making a new one! The old one was good imo

The original aired 1978-1979.
The reboot aired 2003-2009.

Homelander is a piece of work to say the least, wish they released Season 2 all at once rather than episodically.  Now also waiting on the new season of Stranger Things to drop and hoping they fix the abrupt end to Doom Patrol.

Amazon really **** the bed with the Boys s02 ad campaign. It was EVERYWHERE and in very intrusive ways too, then they release the season one episode at the time. The ad campaign did not line up with the staggered release at all. Some marketing exec really **** the bed on this because they actually did their job and hyped people up, but didn't think out the consequences that they will just piss everyone off by giving them blue balls.

Just started Long Way Up

If you've never seen any of the Long Way series and you like travel stuff, check these out. The series portrays a heavy motorcycle theme which does domninate the first episode of each series but the bikes actually fade into the background really fast after the first episode. The scenes in Mongolia and Russia in Long Way Round were flat out amazing.

In Long Way Up Ewan McGreggor and Charlie Bormann are trying to ride electric motorcycles from the tip of South America up to California and I'm curious to see how they deal with the Darien Gap.

In Long Way Up Ewan McGreggor and Charlie Bormann are trying to ride electric motorcycles from the tip of South America up to California and I'm curious to see how they deal with the Darien Gap.

The color grading on this really pushes saturation.

Still haven't watched it, gonna wait 3 more weeks then watch the whole thing.

Tp4 Patience ++++

I'm doing that with Lovecraft series so I can watch it all at once, just surprised how fast I caught up on The Boys.  Also will have to wait for the entire Mandalorian S2 to be released to watch it as the episodic run is annoying now-a-days (reason why I don't follow shows on cable).

I started watching Lost again
that was a long time ago!

I liked it for a couple of seasons but after it went completely off the rails multiple times I gave up.

Lost is one of the immensely popular shows Tp4 just couldn't get into similarly with community.

Don't understand the appeal.

Been meaning to watch Firefly, seems like a modern classic!

It's the greatest show EVER.

Let's say   Rickn'Morty is 1x.
Outlaw Star = 15x
C-Bebop = 17x
Startrek TNG = 20x
Firefly = 999^999x

Firefly's greatness was not at all intentional,  it just HAPPENED that way.  You could tell from the setup, the plot, the budget, if it were ANYONE ELSE besides that set of actors, the show would be ****..

I highly doubt it could be replicated without  God's ordained character chemistry.

It was not without its faults, and it was probably pretty expensive to produce for a show without many millions of viewers per show in its original run.

Personally, I got tired of so many instances of societies operating on the "horses and six-shooters" level, but that made production easy and cheap. Similarly, when I watched the original Star Trek as a high school student in the 1960s, it infuriated me that such a large proportion of episodes took place in historically Earth-like societies (ancient Rome? Nazi Germany?) or on Earth itself in the past.

On the other hand, I was deeply gratified that a movie was eventually released that satisfactorily tied up the loose ends, a rarity for a cancelled TV show.
