Turning a das keyboard into a portuguese board.
« on: Thu, 29 December 2011, 09:22:56 »
Hi there. First post.

I'm Portuguese and I wanted to get a Das Keyboard to fulfill my typing needs. To that end, I wanted to change the layout of a Das Ultimate to PT either through, ideally, a PT keycap set, or alternatively with a sticker set like the ones the Keyboard Company sells.

I can't, however, find PT keycap sets for sale, anywhere. WASD keyboards doesn't appear to have European layouts. Can anyone help?

Also, is there any flaw in my plan that will stop me from going through with this?

WASD apparently has ISO, but has not updated the online editor yet. In the mean time you could grab the custom layout file and edit it to your preferred layout yourself.

Yes, I know. They have in stock according to post in the wasd subforum here, just not updated the website yet. The website will probably be updated within the month or so from what I read. In the mean time, you can use a custom layout svg file and send it to them for characters layout the online editor won't allow.

That's great, thanks.

There isn't any problem with using their keycaps on a Das, right?

No problems they are 100% compatible, and have the exact same profiles. Probably made from the same mold at whatever factory.
