First off, I'd like to thank LethalSquarrel & BababooeyHTJ for making this mod possible. Lethal for the hook-up on a cheap Filco and Bababooey for donating the MXclears. This was a project I started for my son and I to show him how to soldier and start hacking :)

I did the MXclear mod at work just to get familiar with taking apart the Filco.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, it's all I had at the moment.

I also did MXgreen or Ghetto Green mod to another Filco MXblue I had. It is in the pic on top. I didn't really take any WIP pics, I figured we've already seen Filco's taken apart.

Both of these mods took me about 5 hours a piece to complete. The longest step was opening up the actual switches and swapping out the springs. All in all, the mod was not that difficult, anyone interested should definetly give it a shot.

Just about to start doing almost the same mod with the big 104 key Filco I just got.
Only diff is I am only planning to to do the alpha keys to ergo clears and leave the rest as blues.

:D Sounds really cool! Make sure you take some pics too, I would love to see/hear how it turns out. I was also considering doing a mixed switch board.

After a few weeks I'm REALLY loving the Ghetto Greens. They feel SO much more responsive than normal MXblues. And they sound alot different. I mainly use that board for playing Starcraft2 and it has a very manly feel 8)
