That's the feature I love the most!

I can guarantee you this will not happen.

Hi everyone.

The BIBIMBAP - Base Kit has been corrected.

- Added Row 1 1u Pipe to support split backspace
- Corrected the color of the 1.25u Shift, that slipped through on the first render

The R1 1u \| key needs to be alpha-colored (white).

Also, I recommend removing the sublegend on that key for a cleaner look, as it would otherwise be the only key on the number row with a sublegend.

Today I would like to announce 2 awesome Artisan Collaborations for GMK Hanguk:

GOLDEN STAR KEYCAPS

The guys over at GSK will create their awesome LAHAN Character in a GMK Hanguk Colorway. I specifically picked LAHAN since I think it fits the asian vibe of my Set perfectly.
A prototype is in the works at the moment and the picture of it will be presented here, once it's ready to share with you guys!

Check out their INSTAGRAM.

-----

ARTKEY UNIVERSE

These incredible artists will contribute not only 1, but 3 Artisans to go along with GMK Hanguk: Their famous Characters BULL V2, SIRIUS and DEVOURER.
Here, prototypes are expected in late August and, of course, I will share them with you as soon as they are available.

Check out their INSTAGRAM, as well.

For me, it is absolutely incredible to collaborate with such amazing artists like GSK and ARTKEY UNIVERSE and I feel extremely humbled and proud that they chose to collab with me on this.

THANK YOU

Consider including 한/영 and 한자 sublegends on the right Alt and right Control keys, respectively. See the GMK Red Devils base kit for an example.

Since the INTEREST CHECK FORM was literally blowing up with many of you wanting some "black" in this set, I would like to introduce the "BLACK DAY KIT".
Black Day is a unofficial holiday in South Korea and I think the name fits in more than one way. First, and obvious enough, the color of the kit. Second, the holiday in Korea is associated with Valentine's Day, but is for everyone that didn't receive a gift on that day.
This is for everyone of you wanting some black in GMK Hanguk and didn't receive it, yet.

So here is your very own "BLACK DAY":

i1 by illuminati.works

There were so many people who had the same wish, so I just could not unhear that.
I decided not to blow up the BASE and NOVELTY Kits any further, but now everyone who wants black accent keys can have them in this set.

I hope you enjoy...

Please consider using native instead of sino numbers on the numpad.
Like this:
(Attachment Link)

Also, the 한/영 on Alt and 한자 on Ctrl--like what GMK Red Devil is doing--that would be wonderful.

Do these mono-legend Korean alpha caps actually exist? If so, any info?
(Or is this pic just a mock-up/render)
Thanks

It's a real photo for sure. I think that may be a custom dye sub job. I haven't seen caps like that before, and they're using an uncommon (super old-school) style of lettering for the main alpha legends, as well as native Korean numerals.

Anyway, KAT Monochrome is going to have a Hangul alphas kit similar to that, but no Hangul mods.

GMK style Korean mono just doesn't work for me. The mono legends are too small and the R2 row is basically backwards in the sense that the double legends should be flipped up to the top of the cap in the traditional shift position.

Will the TRIGRAM deskmat be left with the 스모키 printing on it?

It looks really neat and balanced, and I honestly think the light grey breaks the look.

In fact, this (on this specific deskmat) is the only thing on all deskmats that worries me a little bit. Not because of the color, but the size.
Prototypes of the mats have been ordered and I will review and decide accordingly.
But imho a small thing like that should not break the look. But as I said, it might go.

One change I would recommend making to the base kit is to swap the second R4 1u Ctrl out for a blue R4 1u Fn.

Explanation:
  • Two 1u Ctrl keys are not used on any modern ≥60% boards. They are only useful on a limited number of 40% ortho layouts.
  • Many people like to use R4 1u Fn on the bottom of their right column on 65%/75% boards. Since the rest of the right column mods are blue, there needs to also be a blue R4 1u Fn key; the set currently only includes a red one.

That sounds like a very reasonable suggestion. Thank you for that.
I will not switch, but add a blue R4 1u Fn, to keep the G80-1800 7 x 1u BR compat.

Sounds good. Another use case for the blue 1u Fn that I forgot to mention is that it can be used together with the red 1u Fn as Lower/Raise keys for ortho layouts.

And speaking of ortho layouts: since the only way to outfit a Planck and similar boards without getting the novelties is to use blue mods on the right half (blue Fn as Raise, blue arrow keys, blue R1 Delete as Bksp), I suggest changing the red R4 1u Enter key in the Japchae kit to blue.

On the kbbq deskmat I can't tell what the orange-ish dish is exactly. I would assume it's kimchi but it also might be chap chae or kimchi bindaettuk. Just asking for clarification for myself.

I love the fonts on the keycaps and the color scheme. I just need to have a base kit when it gets out. But I have to be honest. I think the "대한민국" on the ENTER key looks terrible. Completely out of line with the rest of the fonts.

Maybe an idea to put the trigrams there instead? I don't know how far the designs have been finalized/locked, and being a fresh newby here on the forum I don't know what the general way of feedback is.

Hi everybody,

after being on vacation for over 3 weeks now, I have a lot of stuff to share with you :)

I hope you enjoy:

1

I am very thrilled to announce another Collaboration: Salvun.
He did an absolutely amazing job with the Artisan, as always! It turned out just the way I wanted it to.
Thank you both Stormlex, for helping me with the graphic and kwerdenker, for that absolutely incredible picture.

2

The prototype from Golden Star Keycaps came in.
It looks absolutely stunning, too. May I present to you: HANGUK LAHAN:

3

After a very good suggestion, a R4 blue Fn was added to support bottom right column on 65% / 75% layouts and blue Fn / red  Fn as Lower / Raise keys for ortho layouts.

4

I took some good pictures of the color samples today:

Direct sunlight:

Cloudy sunlight:

Artificial light (Cold white light directly above samples):

5

Deskmat Samples have been ordered and are on the way to me right now. I will post pictures once they arrived.
