I have no idea what I'm doing

I have an idea.
I used an online tool to analyze the colors in the image. Bear in mind I'm a developer, have never designed a keyset, not really sure the best way to speak about the colors.
However, here are hexcodes:
Alphas: #415572
Legends (Alphas): #B2B1A8
Modifiers: #C89E77
Legends (Modifiers): the orange of the esc in the render.
That's probably useless but it's what comes to mind based upon your idea. Sorry :(

Cool, I'll plug in some of those and see how it looks.
The reason I chose the colors I did is because manufacturers (In this case, Signature Plastics) already have those 'calibrated' in their plastic choices. Custom colors require a lot more back and forth.

Tweaked colors a bit, but looks like this:Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/HRUY2P8.png)
Those beige mods do look nice; you are onto something I think...

Putting beige on the FRow, even more darker mods. Beige Legends though.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/ptayAAu.png)
Bump, any other thoughts?
But that's effort....Bump, any other thoughts?
thoughts? put some more effort into an IC before making a post. I have hundreds of ideas for colors that’ll look good but I’m not spamming the gh ic page with my hex renders
colors look pretty good tho(;
I like version 1 (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=93601.0) :)) but the profile should definitely be DSA :p
In v3, will be nice to have all the mods legends color be same as Enter key. Gives nice contrast.I'll give it a shot, pink everywhere. ;)
Are they in R3 profile only?Probably would do 1-1-2-3-4-3.
I like V2. The red on the Enter keys does not fit IMHO, but otherwise looks good. Maybe a bit more contrast for the modifier texts. It's a pretty dark blue, wonder what else I could do...
I like 1 and 3, leaning a bit towards 3. And definitely SAI realize 3 is pretty similar to Dasher / Dancer, which is probably why I like it, but beige instead of white.
The beige color from the function row on 3 somehow just seems off to me. Personally I'd want to see it in the same blue of the alphas (or maybe mods).

Yea, it was an experiment to see if they could evoke 'clouds', with the alphas / mods being the 'water'.
Of all six responses, it's the least popular. <\3

The beige mods are actually my favorite, by far. It's a very pleasant contrast with the blue, and it gives the set it's own personality in a way that the others don't.
Well that was unfortunate :(. Any plan on the novelties or is it just one of those classic one?
If your inspiration is taken from the painting you posted, then I'm not really feeling food novelties. Maybe nautical and weather, or elements? You said the blue alphas and beige mods were meant to evoke water and clouds, I think. So why not some sort of cloud novelty? And something for water? Then there are boats in the painting. And you can't possibly ignore that sun burning through the fog. That's a main focal point of the painting.Yes, been considering weather / clouds, but novelites are icon's, and everything here is pretty nondescript. An icon for Fog, maybe. But yes, making the esc into a sun is a good idea...
Just some thoughts for you to consider. I think there's a lot of potential here.

Since its Monet, perhaps the novelties should have a water lily? He is well known for them.
Also, I don't think this is feasible...but a cool idea would be to have a set of 4 artisans, one for each season (since Monet's work was known for capturing the passing of the seasons). But the reason why artisans would be better than an image novelty, is cause artisans could potential reflect Monet's painting style better. But...these are just ideas :P ;D

^ These pretty much. Feels like foods and bacons novelties are just too savage to go with a keyset inspired from a canvas lol.
Yes OP please us! ;) But seriously this set is beautiful, can't wait to see it progress :DIf your inspiration is taken from the painting you posted, then I'm not really feeling food novelties. Ok, ok. SIGH. You people.
Looks like I FINALLY got 10 responses! Hooray! Closing the form.
Version 1 wins with 6 votes, and V2 and V3 tie for second place with 4 votes.
SA wins with 7 votes, GMK second with 3, DSA 0.
I think I'm going to try for a V4, or somehow work in Beige into the Novelties.
Now to spin up some art programs and see how my Vector art is...
I thought the vote was to narrow down to a final version so we could base the set on and progressing with other kits like novelties and such. Hmm so now we are likely to have another version to compete and have another poll all over again?

Playing with the colors, I think it will be hard to get a V4. The Smokey Blue (BEY) doesn't seem to work well with any beige / gray: not enough contrast, or makes it look awkward (too yellow). I just really liked that beige on navy... SIGH. Another set perhaps...
Kits shouldn't be too hard; lots of them are already available to just copy paste more or less. (Alphas, Mods, Mod Ext, Alt FRow, Num, Arrows, etc.)

I really think you should make the set you want. What's the point otherwise? You have a sample size of ten votes, and it would be a shame to abandon your vision based on such limited input. I would recommend refining your vision and giving it a strong presentation. Then give people a chance to see it for what it is and get behind it. We'll help you tweak it along the way to get it to where it needs to be. But there's absolutely no need to rush and put all your effort into something you don't really want simply because six people voted for it.
