Do you know people that work there? How do you know what they've got? Also that's crazy lucky if it's got blue alps in it.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Hey CPT! I need a blue alps board, I think you've got enough alps.  :p

My next project will be a CF case 65% blue alps board, I just need to find the damn switches.

Are you going to clean it and use as is or take the switches and make a TKL/ 60% ?

So many awesomenesses in that board. Fairly compact layout. The comically oversized spacebar and plus. Happy Hacking Ctrl key. Almost-ISO |\. Numpad 0 hanging across the two "zones" etc etc... AND blue ALPS!
Looks like a lot of fun!

The best "economy" chassis is the Dell AT101, a really nice true-ANSI keyboard (with an oddly large case) but the old black switches are a nuisance to remove if the tech bent over many of the legs. These sometimes came in black cases, too, if you go that way.

The absolute best chassis for full-sized Alps is certainly the Northgate Omnikey 101, and the best "standard" TKL case is the Filco Zero.

The endgame TKL case is the Kingsaver.

Yeah, it seems like the start of a great project.. but I can't really afford to start up a project.  My wife is already displeased with the costs of the parts I've started collecting to build a (hopefully TKL) board with the Gateron blacks, and I haven't even picked up the pcb/plate/case for that yet!

I think I'll just sit it next to me and type on it for a while and find someone who can trade me something for it.

prolly..

Okay, I've decided to try and sell it for $75.  I appreciate the advice on prices both from fohat and Nubbinator.. I could perhaps get more, but that is really what I need to pay the new therapist bill, and I DID get the keyboard for $5, so I'll look at it as finding a small lottery ticket.

You are giving it away. $120 shipped is more than fair. You need the money more than the buyer does.

I'm going to try making one with an ABS M1 case/PCB.  It looks to be the same OEM design as Filco.  I'll have one this week to inspect, but I only have one DC-2014 so I don't have enough switches to complete the project.

White Alps are a decent substitute on the lesser-used keys. And, as I understand it, you can make any Alps clicky by fiddling with the leaves. There are mountains of blacks available from AT101s.

I would have needed to ask for more if the keyboard hadn't been such a steal originally.. I decided to just go for price I paid + the surprise extra $70 fee for going to see a therapist that specializes in anxiety disorders was going to cost me.
