Hiya friends
« on: Thu, 21 July 2016, 23:34:17 »
Hiya everyone! I'm real new at mechanical keyboards, but recently the nicest person in the world built me my first one and I'm absolutely in love with it! I've been lurking for a couple of months now and really enjoying the GH community. I went to the Seattle meetup this last weekend and had a great time getting to learn new things and meet some really cool people! I just got a Hugo and two Fugus as my first artisans and already can't wait to get so many more. I'm excited to learn a lot and see all the amazing talent that passes through here.

So... Hi! And thanks for being awesome. :)

So, what keyboard are you using (switches? caps? etc...)  Do tell... do tell.  ;D

Welcome! It's true that artisans only exist if they're well documented in the wild :p

Welcome :)

Did you bring the board to the Seattle meet?
I may have a picture of it if so.

I was the one with the 135g board, silver HHKB & pink anime face board

Keyboards: HHKB Pro 1 & OTD 356CL Dark Greyhat Edition, baybee!

Welcome to Geekhack!

Sounds like you're already getting involved in the community, which is great :)

What keyboard was made for you?  What switches has it got?  What keycaps?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Sorry for the belated reply, but here's what I've got:

'Tis a hhkb layout with MX blues, vintage triumph adler keyset + a few various, 2 fugus, and 2 hugos.

Nice keyset :)

I like it when they had ,, and .. on single keys, and <> was somewhere else.  I still have a keyboard like that, but I can't use it properly any more.
