For all those people who want to have mini keyboard and mouse in a tiny setup without additional items. or for people who just wants lots of macros/hotkeys you decide.

That's definitely going to get a mixed reception. For some people it will be incredibly useful.

But what is it with the people who write the drivers (especially Razer)? They seem totally incapable of reducing the setup utilities to their simplest form that simply *works*.

It isn't rocket science. All we need is: When I press {this} button, I want {this action} to happen.
Instead, working your way through some of these setup utils is like a Mensa test, and they put great effort into complicating things for themselves. For example for a long time you couldn't program a Logitech G9 button to act as a shift key. Why not? Because the programmers *chose* to treat shift differently. They could/should have just treated it as A.N.Other key, and kept their own job simple. Dumbasses.

If you really want a num pad mouse try something like these where the num pad can at least be used by your fingers instead of your thumb. I have to say that they are butt ugly though.

There's a reason mice and keyboards aren't usually combined...

5600 dpi !!!! Can't say I need that, but if accuracy and speed are equally impressive I'd quite like to try it.

Re the $50 mousemat though - has anyone tried a teflon sheet (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280300805419) as a mat? I bet it would be hard to beat.

One of those chopping boards (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90131775) might do.

A few years ago a TV show had a humorous advertisement about them: Power Tapis (http://www.tontuyau.com/v.asp?id=333) (french).

The razer is slightly better in that the buttons do not reside where your palm rests, but in order to access the buttons you can only use your thumb (or pinky if your a lefty) which is not really suitable for high-speed entering, but for the odd macro you use/hotkey i feel it be fine.

This got me thinking though, some one needs to create a numpad/macro trackball, probably where one half of each numpad keys reside on each side of the trackball. It might work out nicely, and can actually be built into a standard keyboard not that standard keyboards aren't large enough as it is. Cherry's previous attempts just made reaching for the numpad a hassle, and i need an all in one setup for when i tote my laptop or use my G84-4100

I loved my N52.  It still sits on my desk as a reminder of the old days.  I don't think I have used it in about 3 years.

lol Omg wouldn't that be awesome.

I'm looking for a good mouse to do another trackball mod on.  Would be fun to incorporate an n52te somehow.

I always wanted one of those for my right hand so I could do shorcuts and the like when I use my tablet or Cintiq. I just thought it would be wonderful to use. Maybe it would still be worth it? I dunno :S

That device is stretching the boundaries of the definition of computer mouse.

I think so, too, and in a good way.  I always liked the Nostromo, because it allowed me to control my character with just my thumb and left my other fingers free.  The WSAD keys, IMO, make it more difficult because more than one of your fingers could be tied up at any one time.  If this philosophy were applied to a pointing device, much convenience could be gained.  In this convenience-centered society, this would be gold.  That, and I could use this easily with my left hand.

There are a lot of "funny" mousemats, but these (http://verkopers.marktplaats.nl/4824707) made me chuckle.

Well, if you still need one to match your Persian carpet on the floor... If they have some sort of durable surface I might even consider getting one, strictly for novelty value.

Been there. Not recommended: Kept leaving stray strings on my desk as it unraveled.

Add a trackball to a Datahand? Where? As a plug in? Or integrated? (integrated where?)

Interesting. I'll take a look at it with that in mind. I finally spoke with Lynn again a couple days ago about their in stock units and planned next run. She is taking a unit to an Apple store to put it through the paces with the newer OS and USB. I look forward to hearing her results.

I have the Razer Imperator with the same 5600 dpi laser.

5600dpi is useless... slightest touch and the cursor is across the screen.  1000-2000dpi is plenty for basically everything.
