What connector is at the other end of the plug originally attached there? That picture just shows a totally generic connector, without any surrounding context that might give us a clue.

It’s probably XT or AT protocol, but it also might be some kind of terminal board, or who knows what.

Sorry, I should have included that.

If that is AT, you can just use an AT to PS/2 adaptor - they use the same protocol.

Then you can use a PS/2 to USB adaptor.

But if it is XT, or something else, you will need a convertor.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

There way be a switch on the back or internally to convert it to AT or XT. Look at the PCB and back of the case.

If not, hook it up to soarer's adapter. IT can convert either (though AT to USB converters are plentiful commercially) and has a number of useful features.

Wait, is that what that switch on the back was for?
This is great! Thanks!  ;D
