Paypal scam alert - buckyballs
« on: Tue, 02 May 2017, 22:40:38 »
Just putting this out there so others can avoid doing dealings with this user.

The short of it is buckyballs bought an ergodox off of me. He then filed a paypal dispute claiming it didn't work (I checked that it worked before packing) to get a refund. What I received in the mail however was some old junk (calculators, etc). So he essentially tried to wring refund money out of me and keep the working ergodox.

Thankfully paypal ruled the dispute in my favor and he didn't receive any refund. Figured I should warn others so he doesn't try to pull this same scam on anyone else. I can give his name & address in case he tries to register a new username, but I'm not certain if it's allowable to post that here.

I just want everyone to know..  Tp4 had nothing to do with this..  hahahahahahahhahaha

And it is MOST UNFORTUNATE that an Ergodox is involved in this latest e-crime..

Just comes to show that split-ergonomics is finally picking up such that even the thieves recognize their value.

Good ergonomics is for everyone, regardless if you're a criminal..

Thankyou so much Loligagger for exposing such heinous -user activity.

If you could post some conversations you have had with Currently alleged criminal -buckyballs-,  or some screenshots of some of the evidence, that would be most helpful..

Sure, here's what I actually got back in the mail.

167536-0

Here's an email from paypal about the dispute, showing the tracking number. Just for confirmation I took a pic of the package itself which shows the identical tracking number.

167540-1

Thanks for posting..

Could you pm any users you've successfully traded with in the past to back your reputation,  to post in this thread also ?

I can understand this is a frustrating situation..  but if we are to condemn a fellow user as  a - scammer - . there must be multiple corroborating information.

I can post a screencap of their PMs if it's necessary but I've sold things to odd, ddot, and Beca most recently. I'm sure if asked they could confirm successful dealings with me.

Maybe he truly intended to send the Ergodox back but sent junk back because they are so similar.
/sarcasm

On another note: Glad paypal sided with you, this is something I always worry about when ship a pricey board out.

Bumping this because I've noticed that buckyballs has been posting again recently, so I'm bringing this warning back up.

Maybe the new trader rating system will help.
