New stuff!

Introducing the Ergo Legends kit:

IC responses for legends vs blanks was pretty close to 50/50, so I will likely be offering both.

Be sure to update your response to the IC form if you intend to go for this instead. (I believe you should be able to edit your responses, let me know if you can't)

I've also been working on tweaking legends, as I've received feedback (that I agree with) that the legends are currently too bold and the alphas seemed too large. I feel this change aids readability, and doesn't lose the aesthetic of the lowercase legends. Some kit comparisons are below:

Old

New

Some renders with this change are in the works, and I will update this thread once those are ready. Let me know what you think in the meantime!

Please, let go of this meme of combinging ortho and 40s. If you must combine, combine ortho with ergo and put 40s with regular mods. Thanks.
I must admit I saw this complaint coming, but find it rather odd. 40s seems to share more keys with ortho than ortho does with ergo and 40s does with regular mods. Can you explain your reasoning?

The problem is that more than half of the keys in 40s are of no use to ortho users and the kit is missing thumb keys for split orthos with thumb clusters. Merging ortho with Ergo kit solves that. It also provides a great option for larger ortho boards such as boardwalk.

Show Image

The other way around, many of the 1u keys are worthless to 40s users. 40s kits have much more common with regular mods than with ortho mods.

The only reason these kits ever got thrown together was due to the huge MOQ of GMK and traditionalists wanting to support numpad and ISO in base and not 40s. Outside of GMK it makes little sense to merge these kits. I'd say even within GMK it makes more sense to put 40s in base. But that's another discussion entirely and we won't know what to do with ortho.

I'm still considering this change, and have added a question in the IC form regarding this.

Very excited for this set, I especially love the gold keys and font that add a little spice to this set. Magic circle brass cap would be a life saver aswell since I missed the DSA Magical Girl's one ( Maybe you can hit up Salvun for those =] )
Lowercase legends are also a nice touch. Would be interested to see how this looks on a rose gold board.

I'd also love to get a brass cap made - will have to reach out to Salvun for sure  ;)

Looks really nice on molly and the SP-111. MetallicCharles always kills it with the renders and makes me want to spend money...

I'm so excited for the SP-111! Will have to get e-white and recreate the renders :p

None yet, still tweaking kits before I start communication with zF and Keyreative.

Thanks for your support! <3

After some deliberation, I've decided to split 40s and Ortho. This allows me to better specialise each kit to the board type's needs.

The current kits are below (thanks to the guys over at KAT Space Cadet, for the kits these are based on), but I'm very open to changes. Let me know what you'd like added!

Also, following feedback from the IC form, I've decided to make all 2u keys in the Ergo kits convex. This should hopefully be more comfortable for both ergo and Boardwalk users  :D

If I’m not mistaken there are now three KAT sets all for charectors from this anime. I’m glad I’m not a die hard fan of this, and better not watch it so I don’t become one. Then I’d have to buy every set

I wonder why they are all weeb kits. I'll be partaking in all of them out of colemak desperation, but yeah, I don't know what half of these people are saying in these threads lol.

Exciting updates!

I've now been able to confirm vendors in all regions, and they are listed below:

We are currently aiming for an early January launch!

I've also begun the process of quoting kits with Keyreative, so will be aiming to finalise kits in the next two weeks. If there's any changes you want to see made to any kits, this is your last chance to let me know  ;)

Unfortunately due to the short time between IC and GB, there won't be time before GB to get samples confirmed. That said, I am confident that Keyreative's colour matching should be good enough that there won't be much of a delay confirming samples after GB. (KAT Milkshake samples were confirmed on their second try, for example.) My Pantones are listed in the OP and pictures of my Pantones in person are earlier in the thread.

I've also had some renders made by the amazing Manzel to demonstrate the smaller tweaked legends. These have been added to the OP, but I'll also link them here!

Hi all,

Just to keep you posted, we're still waiting on quotes from Keyreative unfortunately. :( As soon as those are in, we will be able to solidify a GB date and work out prices.

We're still aiming for an early January launch.

As soon as I know anything new, I'll update here  :)

In the meantime, I've updated all of Manzel's renders in the OP with the new legends - be sure to check them out!

Edit: Quotes have now arrived! I have passed these on to my vendors, and will update with more information once I have it.

Big news!

Quotes are in, and the prices for the US and EU have been confirmed. These can be found below. Pricing information from other proxies is in the works, and I will update the OP once I receive these.

Overall I'm very pleased - the amount of compatibility packed in alphas + mods for under $100, for example, is something I'm proud of.

Also, let me stress that the kit MOQs are suggested - KAT's MOQ system is more complex, and if an overall MOQ (based on the amount of units each key is worth) is reached, all kits will be made. For more information on this, I defer to this well worded comment from my friend Minterly.

This also means we've been able to solidify a GB launch date! KAT Lich will become available from the 7th of January 2020.

Unfortunately due to timing issues, the deskmat will not be able to run alongside the keycaps. That said, I would still like to run this deskmat at a later date.

KAT Lich is a week away

Have a great new year guys!
