For those who want text, or text+icon => there is other sets to buy. This one is so rare, and changing the modifiers move this set away from what 9009 is.

I'm fine with either text + icon or just icon, but for the r2 delete key could we keep the delete symbol with the box and the x from the original run? Rather than the small back arrow in the new renders

Im not talking about that. Im talking about the 9009 r1. If you look closer, there isnt many "deal" "quit" "interrupt" "cancel orders" etc etc keys in this GB and no one asks for them for a reason.

A serious question for you: Why dont you buy GMK classic retro + color mods (from this) instead? Classic retro is available today and you get the modifiers you want.

With the small arrow on the 1.5u BS and Super instead of the Windows logos this is still a big improvement on the first 9009.
I really like the ISO-UK support. It's nice to include for ISO builders and not too much legend deviation from ANSI.

Which ISO countries even use the classic down arrow caps? Just German layouts?

I'm gonna buy this no matter what, but it would be nice to have text on the shift, enter, backspace etc. keys. Would definitely be my preference.

Sorry for thinking that it might be a good idea to have a replica set actually.... you know... replicate something.

And I'm not buying GMK classic retro because I'm not paying over 200 for a GMK set, it's as easy as that. I've never said I won't buy this if it doesn't get text+icons, I'm buying it no matter what.
I'd just prefer text+icons for this.

I'm unequivocally in for a base kit, in whatever form it happens to take. 90% confidence I'll go for any accent kits as well. 9009 is an endgame set for me.

As for mod legends, I'm indifferent to icon vs text -- as long as there are alternatives to the Windows logo.

Would spacebar kits be a possibility to accommodate split space boards? Many people are keen on split space especially after the bananasplit groupbuy and I would kill for GMK 9009 with blank 2.75u, 2.25u, and 1.25u keys.

Check Wodan's upcoming buy, it would come with some space bars and some blank row B key caps that may fit your needs, you could check it at DT.

I would like to suggest the numpad 5 with bars, as in the original set, and the 6u space bar with offset stem, to be compatible with g80-1800 keyboards. Is it possible to have a space bar with center and offset stems at the same time? I've seen some, probably from gateron?

Please kindly tell us what are the differences with the old set: what keys aren't included any more?

Also, icon only mods is what makes 9009 beautiful. Either stick to the R1 concept OR change it to all-icon! Well, like t0m said, running this as 2 separate kit is viable too, I believe the demands are there 

PS I'm in the all-icon (like Yuri add-on kit) side

I'd prefer you keep the Super modifiers, I really dislike Windows icons with GMK sets if I'm honest..

But regardless, would you be able to add Fn keys to the bottom row? Not wanting to make the base set too big but a 1.25 and 1.5 bottom row Fn would be awesome

Honestly, that would be perfect for me too since it would make everybody happy. I'm however just afraid of the scenario where both sets have too little to MOQ but would have had more than 150 combined :/ Unless people would be ok with agreeing with something like "If the icon+text set doesn't hit MOQ all orders will be converted into icon orders if the set doesn't succeed otherwise" but I don't know about that   

I just really don't want to take any unnecessary risks.

Well, I'll put it on the table again for sure. I was approached by a pretty big Chinese vendor (same people who proxied your set IIRC!) so that could be a pretty big chunk of orders coming in. Maybe I'm just worrying too much about not hitting MOQ

From the main kit, the thing missing is only 1u Ctrl. Beside it, we can cover Planck already.
But if you try to add 2.25u and 2.75u in spacebar kit, why not adding 2u and 2x 1u too? Planck is already in thousands number sold, I dare to say there are more Planck + Preonic compared to split space keyboard. GMK even have the convex version of R4 2u and 1u

I believe it's not currently possible in GMK, as there is no 3u spacebar mold available. Split spacebar is getting more popular, so maybe it will happen eventually.

I think the set should stay as close to the original 9009 as possible but with a few additions. Keep it icons, keep the accents in the base kit, and don't over complicate things with split or 40% compatibility.
