Is the matte sandblasted finish more prone to tarnish over time in regards to pvd finish?

No chance for ISO?
Will do separate layouts, I don’t like universal plate. This is just sample layout.

Perfect! That was exactly what I was hoping for! I wasn't advocating universal plates, I just couldn't find anything related to ISO in the thread. Specific plates for specific layouts sounds awesome.

Count me in.

Louis did the factory give you indication of how layout options will effect the cost?

I read on discord the first price drop is MOQ of 50. But is that a single layout? or are they factoring in that you will request a number of fixed layout plates?

I'll definitely be picking on up. Would prefer either of the following layouts:

WK, split R-shift,stepped/normal caps lock
Ansi with split R-shift, stepped/normal caps lock

I'd really be in on this. I'm specifically looking for split backspace and split right shift, with a 1.5, 1, 1.5, 7, 1.5, 1, 1.5 bottom row.

Exactly what I want. With brass. 4.5 mm would be also acceptable;). Cheers.

I did some mistakes on the prototype. The factory needs to redo a new one. it may take a while.

All good.  This is a very nice product that I plan to buy more than 1 of, so I'm down for having it perfecto!

This would be nice although it is possible to make your own with KLE and a website. Sorry. I forget the address

I know the site you're talking about - I'm more interested in the CAD that has the cutouts for the switches to lock into place. SwillKB doesn't provide that option, afaik.

Are the layouts fixed now, or will there be maybe a split spacebar?
Not a deal breaker for me, I will a few of this plates anyway, but a 3u 3u spoil spacebar would be great

The second you start trying to support a bunch of layouts with a plate like this, it starts ruining the design. Look at sprits 5mm acrylic plates, and what supporting split spacebars and everything does to that area of the plate.

You are right. It would have to be a plate on its own with fixed split space layout to make sense...and the demand for that is way too low unfortunately.

Interested for an ISO one. Do you think you could cut and sell some foam to put between the PCB and the plate also?

not sure if it was answered already, but yes. I never go sandblast finish on brass anymore, unless you like the tarnish look.

Is this plate designed to only be used with specific style keycaps? I notice on my 60% board that my keycaps bottom out exactly on top of the plate. With the switches being sunk in about half way of the 4mm thick plate it seems my keycaps would have around 2mm less travel before bottoming out. My switches have a travel distance of 3.6mm so it seems this would drastically change the feel. Maybe I am missing something.

Keycaps will never touch the plate no matter what plate is being used. The thicker the plate, the further it (the plate) goes down towards the PCB, filling in the gap between the switch and the PCB.
