Why is a 14 year old holding a gun?
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Why is a 14 year old holding a gun?

I was about to ask exactly that question.  With exactly that punctuation.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Is that a reference to me looking 14? Because I do look p young in that picture... But basically they are all just trying to defend themselves as much as they can from the Taliban, and with guns as cheap as they are out there (especially Chinese replicas) it's good to get as many people defending your home and your crops from people.

done my first "diy" custom guitar, requiring a bit more work than just assemble and play :)

hosco 3 piece mahogany body, 22 fret raw maple neck/fretboard, pretty much all hardware Gotoh in cosmo black, pickups are a set of dimarzo twang king's.
no laquer used, just a thin layer of oil now, might make it gun stock oil/wax in the future.
one 40% and seven 60%'s

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Those biscuits are crazy hard to get ahold of without going online and paying mad delivery charges, so pretty happy to have found them for sale in one of my favourite restaurants

I think you should sell me that black and red reaper - it totally doesn't match your setup  ;)

Relax and let the others look after you for a change :)

Trying my best, but it is definitely not my norm!

Not far; still in civilization IMHO. This is only my second time "car camping". I'm used to backpacking, hiking, and mountaineering. I grew up doing that in scouts, then lived among some of the highest mountains in the world in Asia. So I'm at my picnic table with a small Ti gas stove and our neighbors have a huge Coleman two-burner and an electric griddle for pancakes lol. I feel SO unprepared but that's okay. Next year I'll bring more of the comforts of home.
I'm back.

:))  I know some people who "camp" during the day and will then rent a hotel to sleep at night.  Different strokes and all that, but still...  :P

Yep, interesting the gradient on the definition of "camping". There's a few folks on this trip who rented RV's...they were watching a football game last night. Like you said "different strokes and all that, but still..."  🏻

so...you mean...they spend the day together, outside...

If there's no tent, it's not camping!

That's hilarious.  I can see the appeal, but at that point why even bother?  :P

I'm just a bit scared to go camping in the woods in a tropical setting.
