If you couldn't tell by the colors and name, it's a set heavily inspired by vaporwave imagery. Pastel modifiers, legends that pop, and a beige alpha symbolizing the statues and retro computers oh so common to the aesthetic.
The alpha base color is L9, while all the other colors are pantones I've selected. Planning to buy plastic pantone chips if people are interested enough in the set, just so I can be sure of what you fine folks would be getting.

Remix mods I can sorta see but honestly the alphas look nothing like HF - grey purple vs cream neon pink.

Cool theme!Well "better" is kind of subjective. I love ABS, plus I've worked with GMK before so I have an idea of what to expect from this process.
I love what GMK keysets allow to do, but I don't see why this would not be better and cheaper to produce in PBT.
Trying to move to PBT would be just one more wrinkle that could make this set go awry in my book.

That is one expensive base kit.Prices change, but this is the same kit as Taro with a stepped Ctrl, which sold for $155.

Yep, I am definitely in. I really like this brighter, kitschier shade of vaporwave. That's a pretty loaded base kit though. Any thoughts on splitting some kits to bring price down?My big concern with splitting off kits is that it's just one more thing that needs to hit MOQ, so it'll depend on interest levels.

A few points.
1. HFO's Grey and L9 are 2 completely different colors: grey vs beige.
2. This is a pastel green, compared to hyperfuse's mint. I'm not gonna claim it's reinventing the wheel or anything, but IRL there should be a visible difference.
3. This purple is significantly brighter than DY.
4. Pretty much no one splits up GMK sets like that, as it tanks resale value.
Getting "close enough" isn't always what people want.
A big part of this hobby in my eyes is building exactly the board you want. I'm not gonna say you can't draw similarities to Hyperfuse Remix, but you can't say they're the same set. Between beige alphas, a more vibrant legend, and a more defined theme, I think this set can scratch a very particular itch that people may have. If HFO alphas and remix mods scratches someone's itch, that's fine, but posting it like this is quite rude.
Oh and not to mention the compatibility differences, novelties, and actual group buy pricing.

We've officially got novelties cooking up and I've forwarded kits to Novelkeys to be passed along to GMK for pricing quotes.
I've sent the kits in the OP, a modified base kit without ISO/Numpad, a Numpad+ISO child kit, an "extended" spacebar kit with yellow/magenta bars instead of green, and of course a JP sublegend alpha kit.
Once kits become more finalized, look forward to many more renders! I definitely want people to be able to visualize the set on different colored cases.

I agree, this makes it way more usable on many cases because of the beige alphas.
Also, I wouldn't draw looks and attention using this in public while it still remains playful.
The colors are perfect in my opinion!
Edit: I'd personnally like "super" keys in the base kit, and maybe make the numpad a separate kit?

Have you considered replacing the beige with a white? Or at least making it a bit cooler? I think cool works a bit better with pastel colors, and the beige really throws me off.

There is a 2u r4 blank in the base kit that could be used as either a shift or a spacebar for ortho boards!
As far as the name, I could make something up, but truth be told I was playing with a vaporwave name generator and I liked this one. :))

I feel like the set could use a bit more pop (R3 CapsLock/Control accents, F13 for the new Jane?), but it already has quite a lot of caps.
Will the JP add-on have the regular sub-legends from the Laser/Red Samurai/Bento sets or the more complete ones from Zambumon's sets? Number row keycaps from Serika and Striker feature additional sub-legends for instance.
Otherwise, I hope the 1.5u R4 CapsLock will make it into the final version.

With such a small amount of ISO stuff, I'd rather just stick it in with the numpad than risk it not hitting MOQ at all and having to deal with that headache.

I've received some pricing info, but I realized there's a few tweaks to the kits that need to be made.
I'm currently leaning hard towards doing numpad/ISO as a combined separate kit so as to lower the base price a little bit.
But things are still in the works, rest assured! ;D

I like the current colourway, but I'm not sure which exact ones you're going with yet. It would be great to get an idea once you've decided, for clarity
The pantones I've been working with are:
Green 0921 C
Magenta 0521 C
Yellow 0131 C
2582 C
I wasn't necessarily going for a 1:1 match on the magenta/pink match to floral shoppe, moreso a loosely-inspired colorway of that, and "vaporwave" in general.
I started off designing this set by playing with some pastels, and once I threw in the beige it kinda came together as a vaporwave set in my mind.

Love how this is more vaporwave then GMK Vaporwave! And a suggestion: How about putting ISO with a international kit?
Frankly if I did an international kit I don't think any ISO users would end up with the set. GMK Pulse is currently sitting at 13 int kits sold, and I think a set on Drop would have way better chances of hitting MOQ than this set.
At least this way it's still usable for ISO, but a little imperfect.

I totally agree. I like how UK ISO caps were added into base kit in the past.
These are just 2 or 3 caps, which should raise the price too much and would make huge difference for UK peeps.
For me for example, sometimes unfortunately it is no-go if these are not included. If there is ISO Enter, short left Shift, slash cap and hash, why not add just those "@", "2" and "3" caps.

Do note that GMK Pulse is not the best example — his designer is openly hostile to ISO (driving down with it the percentage of his ISO-preferring customers) AND the ISO support in the GMK Pulse set itself is poorly executed (driving down its sales even more).

Check some other recent GMK sets and ICs, see how they're doing it; it's generally pretty similar to what I suggested.

R3 Hack is only used on a few keyboards (Uniqey C70 is the only one that comes to mind) and some very uncommon 65% right column setups, so I don't think it's worth including either. You might like Caps Lock on your bottom row, and it's your set, so I'll give you that, but there's no reason imo to keep the other two.
They might not make a big difference on their own, but if you remove 3 or 4 unnecessary keys here and there, you might be able to, say, afford to add basic 4-key ISO support to the base kit — and that could mean quite a lot

Don't bother. US ISO doesn't actually exist; it's only a crutch we use to refer to basic ISO support (the bare minimum 4 keys needed for physical compatibility) for sets that don't want to provide an actual, full ISO kit (like ISO-UK).
Since you currently have your numpad+ISO kit set up such that it provides proper ISO-UK compatibility, there's no need to add another \| key.
I'm sure US users won't be flocking to use ISO. And the very few that do, I'm sure they'll be fine with #~.
By the way, I got distracted by all of this and forgot to mention the most important bit: Definitely in for a set! Love the colors. I also think I got a coworker interested. Looks like this might become his first GMK set :D

You're looking at the wrong kind of set: those all include a numpad in the base kit. Don't bother. US ISO doesn't actually exist; it's only a crutch we use to refer to basic ISO support (the bare minimum 4 keys needed for physical compatibility) for sets that don't want to provide an actual, full ISO kit (like ISO-UK).
While it's true that it won't get used as much, I wouldn't go as far as saying that "US ISO" doesn't exist. US ISO does exist, even if it's seldom seen. The official definition is that, indeed, when trading the horizontal ("ANSI") Enter key with a vertical ("ISO") one, the R2 1.5U \| key is replaced by the one in the R3 1.0U space left behind. It is, surprisingly enough, the R4 key between left Shift and Z that gets to be the "repeated" key, and for which alternatives exist (some terminal keyboards put <> there; some others forego it and put a long left Shift key, making for an ANSISO hybrid keyboard).
That said, if UK ISO is fully supported, everything is fine. Getting UK+US ISO fully supported, with the addition of one single key (for which molds exist, yadda yadda yadda), would be a welcome bonus.
The "barebones" ISO support we've talked about in the other thread (1.25U left Shift, ISO Enter, R3 \| and R4 \|) is what gives complete physical ("no naked switches") support for ISO and that preserves maximum flexibility at a minimum number of additional keys (four) for ISO support, on a kit built from the ground up for an ANSI keyboard with the US English layout on top, as is the case with pretty much all of the extant ones.

Any updates on the kits: R4 1.25u Fn, R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn, 1800 support moved to numpad? I feel these are a must for me to be able to stand behind the set fully.
I can swap menu to fn that's pretty easy.
Pg up/dn I'll just wanna make sure that it won't bump up the base kit in price.
As far as moving those other keys to numpad, I'm gonna pass on that, the changes I showed previously to line up the accents as well as UK ISO bumped it up enough that I don't want to add more keys. There's pretty much 0 benefit, as the base kit won't drop in any substantial way and then the numpad just gets more expensive.

If R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn end up threatening to raise the price a bit, consider removing one of the less frequently used keys that were mentioned earlier in the thread (e.g. R3 Hack or R4 1.5u Caps Lock).

No, the JP kit as well as the novelties are pretty much just intended to accent the base kit.
Base will cover an HHKB tofu no problem.
JP and novelties are pretty much intended as what I would say are aesthetic changes, i.e. to modify the look of the set for those who would desire it, but to me, they're pretty specific looks, so I wouldn't want them in the base kit. Thus, they get their own separate kits.

I do have a suggestion that would make that key a bit more versatile, though: How about replacing the 1.5u Caps Lock with two 1.5u Super keys? That way you'd kill two birds with one stone: you'd cover Tsangan/HHKB for Mac users (where the Alt and Command/Super are swapped) and you'd have a key with a generic legend for your bottom row Caps Lock needs!

Now I didn't go for a spectrum of lighting to show how they react in different situations like I did with the pantone chips, I just wanted to show how they compare to the pantones themselves. The only thing I've got a complaint about is the magenta, that one we're actually waiting on a re-sample.
All the others I'm super pleased with!
