How do you do your coils? I've tried my wife's hair dryer without much luck. Also do you sleeve them before or after coiling?

How do you do your coils? I've tried my wife's hair dryer without much luck. Also do you sleeve them before or after coiling?
Make the cable like normal, so sleeve and terminate, then I wrap it around a wood dowel, cover in two layers of painters tape and then use a heat gun until the outer layer has a brown to black heat scorch on it.

They're normally tight enough, but they don't have much memory to them. I haven't tried reverse coiling, though.
