A few of the symbols are incorrect on the periodic alphas.  Xenon should be Xe, dubnium should be Db, and thulium should be Tm.  Maybe these were changed for aesthetic reasons, but there are a number of other two-letter symbols like Li included, so I'm not sure why some were changed and not others.  In any case, I would prefer the periodic legends be as correct and consistent as possible.  I would also like to nominate titanium for the 'T' key over thulium.

I'm also in the camp that the electron orbital number novelties should not have secondary legends.  That would really mar the aesthetic.

60s definitely need more split space options. I always use left space for shift and right space for space. I use split boards mostly, so whenever I go back to using a board with a full spacebar, my brain has to do some adjusting haha

Yep! Those fixes have all been made apparent and fixed already. I just haven't updated the post yet. The periodic alphas kit was VERY last minute before posting the IC. I did it very quick before posting and unfortunately that resulted in some glaring mistakes.

Update: Fixed a few issues with the kitting, including changing homing to scooped instead of bars. Also, I believe all mistakes on the periodic alphas should be fixed now!

Thanks so much! Last we heard back in October they were still quoting a 1 year turnaround. However, I think that is unreasonable to assume given the state of the hobby at this point. In my opinion, a lead time of 1.5 years is a decent estimate so we are quoting Q3 2023. Could be sooner, could be later, but considering all manus have taken longer than quoted times, I want to try to give a realistic estimate if possible.

This is a good approach. It’s definitely closer to a 1.5 year production time for Keyreative, seeing as Cyberspace ran ‘til September 2020 and is still making its way to vendors. It’s possible the wait time could go down in future though, seeing as a lot of designers aren’t jumping to design sets with them.

Really cool set too! IMO the text novelties clash a bit with text mods, but I like that there are so many choices. Great work with the accent colors, I can’t decide my favorite

This looks cool.  I really like the periodic alphas, the picture novelties and the colored accents.
The Deskmats leave a little to be desired.  I think either a graphic of an exploded chemistry lab, or a literal periodic table of elements could be cool.  Also the 900x400x2mm desk mats are too thin, the 900x400x3mm are way better.
If you could work a brass or metal key cap option in there too, that would be awesome.

For the deskmats, I talked to a ton of people and they all agreed that simpler was better. I was going to commission an artist for one originally, but the general trend is that mats with lots of artwork don't really sell all that well. Not that I'm in this for the money, but just the fact that commissioning people is expensive. I made these mats myself and I am definitely no artist (I'm a scientist!), but I hope they are simple enough that enough people enjoy their aesthetic. As for the periodic table idea, I also wanted to do that but another set already has mats like that and I didn't want to steal the idea.

Also, there are two metal caps in the work that should be announced just before the GB! Just waiting on the final renders of them.

We are just waiting to hear back from Keyreative and get a final confirmation that the legends will all be printable. We thought we would have heard back before the date the GB was originally set for, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

No worries! I tried to make it visible, but also everyone formats their Geekhack posts slightly differently, so I don't blame for you checking in the comments for the reason.

Sorry for my late reply! We did get one update from them, and they confirmed the legends for the kits will be printable. However, they still need to give us one more price quote (for the French kit). We have tried messaging them again to remind them we are waiting on it...

Sorry for the incredibly late response! I’m much more active on Discord than on here, so I get around to answering questions there about 1000 times faster haha. But yes, we did hear back from Keyreative! They were in lockdown due to COVID and didn’t have access to their messaging services because of it. So hopefully now that they’re back to work we can move forward with the GB. According to them, the first round of samples should be on the way to me. Granted, some of the Pantone colors have changed since I submitted for those samples over a year ago, but it will at least be nice to check on the detailed lines, which I want to do since it’s reverse dye sub.

This isn't still being run in KAM is it?
Their communication seems to have gotten worse since 2020, which is not something I thought possible.
Now they're consistently shipping out subpar quality sets with seemingly little to no quality control, as recently as Napoleonic and Explosion just this week. Many of these issues aren't even new, but extensions of issues that cropped up at the time of Milkshake and Eternal.
Honestly it's a disservice to your customers to run a set with Keyreative at this point. They have zero record of delivering sets properly, with good comms, in a timely manner. I know the group buy date is coming up fast but please please reconsider.

Oops, ignore my last message. The rotary encoder was ran through NZ caps earlier this year. A lot of people have requested they run it again, so I have been trying to get in contact with them to request it, but I have not heard anything back. If I do hear back then I will be sure to announce it on the discord! It sold out way faster than I thought it would.

It is currently live for most vendors. The main contact I have for Protozoa has been out of town recently so I’ve been trying to get ahold of him to let him know the GB needs to be live. But I was able to get ahold of someone else in the company and they are now contacting him for me. Sorry about that!
