Keycap ID Request - CM Quickfire Rapid Pro
« on: Thu, 23 August 2012, 15:03:40 »
So i got a chance to check out the Rapid Pro yesterday and really liked the keycaps they had on the keyboard.  Anyone that owns or tried the keyboard know what the material is made out of?

Right now typing on my Das Professional Model S, and want to replace the ABS keys with blank keys in that material, if possible.  Thanks!

I'm almost 100% sure it's "normal" ABS Plastic. That said, sometimes ABS plastic is really nice.

I would recommend replacing with PBT, mainly 'cause it's awesome.

Yea, CM Quickfire Rapid keys get shiny rather quick. My space bar on the Quickfire held up worse than the spacebar on my Blackwidow.  That's not to say it's not a great keyboard and all.

For what it's worth, I'm replacing my main 37 typing keys with PBT side printed, and the modifiers and the like will remain ABS until I find a full PBT set I want to invest in.

Yea after doing some research, the pictures of the PBT keys look really, really nice.

Is there someone currently selling PBT sets? I'm looking for thick blank black PBT's. I've read that imsto does thick ones.

Does this vendor carry them? http://www.vendio.com/stores/E-sports-Gaming-equipments/

My search-fu is pretty good, but couldn't find the KBT caps you mentioned.

Are these comparable to imsto PBT?

That's Qtan's store, and I believe most or all of the PBT he carries is from KBC

The second set appears to be Ducky's PBT set.

They all compare to imsto's PBT, but aren't as thick. They also have a different profile.
