[IC] Custom-made Wood Wrist Rests
« on: Thu, 04 June 2015, 16:51:23 »
UPDATE: The wood is sourced and I'm just waiting for a job to end so I can pick it up. I will make another prototype within the next couple weeks. Then I will start production. I have a website where I will be selling them. www.NEKeyboards.tictail.com - Thanks guys!

Hey guys. I have been into the keyboard hobby for a few months now, and I also have access to a full woodworking shop (my father is a wood worker by trade). I decided to try to make a wooden wrist rest for my novatouch, and it came out really well. With the tools and skills I have at my disposal, I might as well see if other people would be interested in these wrist rests. These are the exact height of most keyboards, so they are flush. Here's a pic of it with my novatouch:

This is essentially a prototype, made of red oak with a tung oil finish. They will have rubber feet on the bottom. If there's enough interest I'll make another prototype.
Pricing will probably be $25 plus pp fees and about 3.50 shipping to US.

I like where you are going but I would want the front edge to be much thinner. Would that be an option?

The next prototype will most likely be more of an angle from front to back for better ergonomics.

I'll be paying attention then.

It looks good, and the price seems fair.

I would be interested.

These look good and the price is totally reasonable. I'm actually interested in both TKL and 60%. Submitted.

Definitely interested.

How long do you think the oil finish hold up for? Will we have to re-apply it frequently?
