Like radio_killah said, short shift should allow perfect iso compatibility, but to have a symmetricay result, iso needs one 1u key (on the right of the left shift, maybe a blank key? or one with the >< symbols?). That is very nice and good for iso compatibility.

After that you could also add an iso enter key, but maybe it's a litte bit too much to ask for it. But I'd like it :-)

Blanks or not, please include ISO compability.

I wont be including any compatibility kits for Iso other than including the short shifts for it. Ghost and I are not yet completely sold on including 1u blank/window keys just yet.

I'd like to see a 1u windows key, I use one on the left side of my board and a blank or fn on the right side (winkeyless layout with 1u keys in-between ctrl and alt)

plus it gives the set more "usability". If i have an ansi125 board and an ansi150 board, i have enough keys for BOTH!!!! (maybe not completely, but you get the idea)

does GMK offer old-school windows legends, or just the new windows 8/10 logo?

I do not know yet. I will ask but if we do go with windows keys they would be probably the new 8 logo.

well I'd rather have blank than windows logo

With one 1 u blank key, we are talking about adding $1 to a $30 set :-P
Maybe $1.5 for a 1.25 blank key.
I hope that you decide to do it!  :)
Thanks for running this IC. I hope that it goes through.

Hey there. So Ghostjuggernaught and I are thinking about running a RGBK mods group buy together. We are thinking about making this a simple no bull**** or frills set that will be comprehensive and offer as much compatibility as possible.

Here is a list of the keys we have in the set. Ghost and I have decided to just simplify things for now and we are going to get a mock up of just these keys. There are 24 keys in total, 8 control keys, 8 alt/alt gr keys, 7 shift keys, and 1 function key. Depending on the quote from GMK we may or may not add extra 1u blanks/window keys.

(Attachment Link)

We will be using V4 (Blue - Alt keys), V1 (Red - Control keys), and N7 (Green - Shift keys and Function key) with CR for the Black text.

We are contacting GMK and are going to get a mock up and quote as soon as possible. The interest check phase is planned to go until July 16th but is flexible depending on how quick communication between us and GMK is. The ordering period will be a month and is scheduled to start July 17th the day after the Interest check ends. The payment deadline will be approximately a month later around August 18th. We expect production to take 2-3 months. Then after that we will take between 2 and 4 weeks to ship out all orders. This is our skeleton schedule and nothing is set in stone.

When the group buy starts, we will have a google document to input orders. Orders will be invoiced at the end of each day that way we don't spend an entire week just doing invoices. You will however not be required to pay the invoice until the final due date. Unpaid orders at the deadline will be dropped.

Shipping is as follows, all CONUS orders will be shipped via USPS flat rate. The number of sets you order will determine if it is a small ($5.25) or medium ($11.30) flat rate box. International orders will ship out only after all CONUS orders are fulfilled. Ghostjuggernaught and I have already looked into some sturdy corrugated cardboard boxes for shipping. Shipping will also depend on the number of sets ordered since weight is the determining factor. International shipping should be around $15.

Here is the color palette of GMK just for reference.

Hey guys please read this when you get a chance.  :p

Only thing I am thinking about changing is maybe changing all the legends of the Alt keys to just "Alt" or if I add a little to the price, include 2 Alts of each size + 1 Alt Gr.

Let me know what you guys think. I think the Control and Shift keys are pretty much set in for full compatibility.  :thumb:

I know that you can always add another key to a keyset buy, but what about Capslock? (maybe R4 1.25u and R5 1.5u). Not sure if other color mod packs included it.

I would like an extra Alt key just for balance, and keep the Alt Gr, but I vote it stays regardless

My preferences are as below.
1. Adding 3 more Alt to current keys
2. Changing all Alt Gr to Alt
3. No change, no addition

Actually I hope one more Fn key would be added.

Did you change the color for Alt and Control intentionally?
AFAIK red for Control and blue for Alt are the correct color scheme as below, aren't they?

Ha nice, all my images are at simonis.imgur.com for the most part, it's linked to on my GH profile also. luckyryan333 actually just posted a much clearer picture of the keys though.

WAIT!
Did you match the opposite color for Alt and Control intentionally?
AFAIK red for Control and blue for Alt are the correct color scheme as below, aren't they?

Truuuee, didn't even notice at first. If I didn't already have a set I'd prefer the Control to be red and Alt to be blue. However, because I do have one maybe the switch would be nice? I don't know, I feel like Ctrl is supposed to be red in the RGB set..

Looks like in the OP the post contradicts itself, in this image it's clear it was intentional: https://geekhack.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=72899.0;attach=103667;image

I don't know what input you took, the road must have been very long from the standard ansi and iso layout with 11 keys in total (excluding alt gr). And some yellow keys would be welcomed at this point, since you've added everything  :thumb:

Edit: the white font looks so much nicer. Too bad most keycaps have a black font.

Okay, I am bit embarrassed about this  :-[ . But it seems in my over zealous rush to get things going I mistook V4 and V1 and swapped them. I am surprised no one caught it earlier.

This is a group buy for Red- Controls (V1), Blue - Alts (V4), and Green - Shifts (N7), all with Black (CR) text. This is the classic set of RGBK.

That you Luckyryan for catching that.  I will update and change things accordingly. I am sorry for the confusion. I will go ahead and get an updated rendering.

Please forgive me as this is my first IC/GB.  :-*

New updated key list. I asked GMK to add some more alt keys to make both ansi and iso users happy.
The new set now has 2 of every alt key with 1 alt gr key in every size to compliment it.

So, who wants to trade my text mods for their symbol mods? Or am I getting a little ahead of myself? :D

We are not planning on running the yellow mods at this time. Depending on how the GB goes it could be an additional key we include, but for know we are sticking with RGBK.

I also agree that if we are already adding 4 Alt Gr keys why not add the Win and Menu keys. But why would you make them 1u, standard size is 1.25u, not 1u?
I personally think that ISO users will not die if 1 of their keys says "Alt" and not "Alt Gr".

So are we trying to keep the price down or give people what they want? Because on one hand you say you don't want to add keys to keep the price down, but on the other hand you say let's and 4 Alt Gr keys.  Adding those keys will increase the price for non ISO users for no good reason since they have no need for them

Why do we need 12 alt keys

Why do we need AltGr keys at all? Do people really care that much? If we must have AltGr keys, just replace a couple regular Alt keys, I'm fine with a compromise.

Also why do we need symbol-only shift keys?

get rid of some of those and add a 1.75x Control key. much happy.

However it shakes out I'm buying the set regardless haha.

I won't die if there's not AltGr but that adds a lot of value to a set for me.

I think the R5 alt keys can be reduced by 1/2 by just offering 1 Alt and 1 AltGr

I agree with keeping the set lean but I think 1.25u Win/Menu keys are more important than two styles of Shift, two styles of R-Alt, and 1u Alts/Ctrls.

The issue is that there are people who want those keys, but aren't going to vocalize it since they are already included. So for the moment we are sticking with compatibility, most commonly requested keys, and RGB. Depending on how successful this is, we have discussed adding the additional yellow winkeys.

So as I said in the original OP, this was meant to be a comprehensive set of RGBK which is why right now there are no windows/menu keys. It has all the controls, alts, and shifts that would be necessary for any layout and look. If there are enough orders. I will gladly add extras according to what the community wants.

I know it is a bit redundant to have so many keys but the initial concept of this pack was to be control, alts, and shifts only. Although the function key is in there for a uniform split shift layout. Costs definitely could be brought down by removing those "redundant" keys but like I said it was meant to be a comprehensive set.

I really appreciate the feedback though so thank you to those of you who have spoken up. I just hope more people speak up since it will help gauge interest. I know things tend to get skewed by the vocal minority.
