Title: Switches.mx
Post by: BWLR on Wed, 08 April 2020, 15:11:52
Hi everyone. Just wanted to share a website I built and launched this week. It's at https://switches.mx (https://switches.mx) - basically a one stop directory of mx style mechanical keyboard switches with stats, photos, sound test videos and a comprehensive list of where to purchase them from.

There's still lots to do but it's very much an ongoing project. I have a few other people helping to add more content.

Here is what's next to do:
- Add more switches (lots more) - check out the list on trello https://trello.com/b/RPgwLZTZ/switches-coming-soon (https://trello.com/b/RPgwLZTZ/switches-coming-soon) to see what's going to be added.
- Add a filter above the list to allow for filtering and sorting by all sorts of attributes and features. There's a public trello list for this too https://trello.com/b/7hD9YBuJ/website-features-fixes-and-improvements (https://trello.com/b/7hD9YBuJ/website-features-fixes-and-improvements)

This is probably one of my first posts here on Geekhack but I'm a long-time lurker and occasional commenter and I'd love to get your feedback and thoughts on what's up there now and what should be.

Thanks!

That looks wonderful so far. Great job.  :thumb:

I imagine the focus is on identifying new production switches, comparing them concisely, and offering the best current value on them. It reminds me of AmmoSeek and Gundeals, but certainly already more informative, if not yet as powerful when it comes to filtering/sorting.

This being the case, do you plan on eventually including any love for switches that have not been manufactured in many years, like Alps, buckling spring, NEC blue oval, Futaba, Fujitsu Peerless, etc?

Thanks!

So the focus is on all MX switches really including the more longstanding and common switches like cherry brown etc. They're just not on there yet.

There's definitely the possibility of add those older switches as you mentioned but the primary focus is on MX style at the moment (plus I'm completely unfamiliar with those older ones).

I would love to see the older style switches, that said, what is here is amazing.

Definitely bookmarked.

Nice work, definitely bookmarking this one. I really like how the site looks and I'm surprised that you managed to find so much information about all the switches, especially compared to the table I normally refer to.
https://thegamingsetup.com/gaming-keyboard/buying-guides/keyboard-switch-chart-table (https://thegamingsetup.com/gaming-keyboard/buying-guides/keyboard-switch-chart-table)

Looking forward to seeing more switches added to the list and all the additions to the site are already on your improvement trello board.

Hey, thanks for the kind comments.

That's a great link too by the way, I've not seen it before. Super useful for the figures.
