Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well!
I am very excited to finally bring this set to the public. I started working on this project back in July of 2019 and it has been quite the journey. For those of you who don't know Moomin or Moomins is a show/book series that tells the adventures of the Moomin family and friends. For the keyset, I have mostly focused on the 90s TV series which takes place in the peaceful Moominvalley. I always loved how this series could make you feel so calm and tranquil, if you get the time it is a great watch.
It's been a lot of work but this set will have full licensing!

If you're curious where the inspiration for the colors comes from, in the 90s show the main characters Moomintroll, Moomin Mama, Moomin Papa all had these nice soft whites with a drop of color and it was important for me to bring that to the keyset. No no, I feel ya. I was kinda thinking the same thing. The set looks nice but it doesn't really make me think Moomin without the novelties.

I look to be one of the few who has no clue what a moomin is, but the colorset is amazing. Would def pick up a base.I’m in the same boat. Just like the colors.

Really with how this is worded with >greentext formatting, the comments come across as salty and/or jealous more than anything constructive. Formatting them differently might garner your comment less criticism.

suggested this in the IC form, but would absolutely love an alt modifiers kit here that'd have the RAL color identified as "ice white". i would love to use that kit with the novelty spacebar and "marzipan white" accents. that'd be a dream!
would also as someone else pointed out add in iso novelties. would love a snufkin ISO cap!
I like this idea and will look into it as Snufkin is just awesome!

Just googled. I used to work with someone who looked like that. She had a work ethic like the interest check runners who put their set colors in hex codes and show up without renders.

So we actually showed this to the Moomin team when we had to get approvals, etc. as part of the licensing process. And they really liked it! And they thought it fit the brand quite well.
But hey - I guess working for the brand as a job might have tainted their opinions. Maybe they don't know what they're talking about anymore after working with the IP day in and day out

Node kit numbers are usually dismal (edit-modern dolch light had to sell theirs at cost!) but this set might have an ace in the hole. What if you put a norde set in, and then put one iso enter novelty in there to sweeten the pot. Like how GMK Ursa had Paddington only in the ISO kit? Several beasties here look like they could fill out the space of an iso enter.I am working on a ISO novelty ;D

Micro should be renamed to Little MyBTW. The name "Little My" is originally a pun. In Swedish you pronounce the name "My" and the Greek character "µ" the same way.
The author of the books: Tove Jansson spoke Swedish (the Finnish dialect).

suggested this in the IC form, but would absolutely love an alt modifiers kit here that'd have the RAL color identified as "ice white". i would love to use that kit with the novelty spacebar and "marzipan white" accents. that'd be a dream!

I get that people like it, but does it scream moomin to anyone that looks at it? Try messaging your friends a render without moomin on it and see if they make the connection.

I've never been partial to Moomin, but I think the subtle but well coordinated colours work wonderfully together.
I wouldn't want a set that was too blatantly themed after a subject anyway, I'd prefer story that would only be unearthed upon telling.
(As an aside- your location sounded familiar so I looked it up. I've not been to Linkoping, but I have been to Norrkoping.)

Doubt this will be normal, I think that the IP holder of Moomin asked that samples and colors be ultra accurate before the GB starts. I could be wrong though but iirc this was the reasoning why these samples were made this early before the GB.

For staggered 40s the three most important keys are: R2 1.75 backspace, R3 1.25 tab and R3 1.5 enter.
These are the three most important ones since they enable support for many boards and the keys cannot be replaced with another key with the right size and profile.
For the 1.75 enter one could use a control/caps lock instead and that's why it's not considered as essential.
I would like to ask you to consider changing the micro kit to have better support. For examples of really good 40s kits both GMK Wise Wolf and GMK Seafarer have great kits. For more hands on help with 40s there's a dedicated channel in the keycap designers' discord where several knowledgeable people can answer questions.

GMK Moomin has been in the works since 2019, it has been a long road getting everything finally brought together. This set is full licensed with Moomins!
For the uninitiated, The Moomin series of written works and television shows are about the Moomin family of trolls who live in Moominvalley. Throughout the series, the main character Moomintroll goes on several adventures with his friends. The set consists of a collection of custom soft colors, chosen to best represent Moominvalley and the characters that inhabit it.
All MOQs have been met and all kits will be made!

Huge bummer that this is still in the GMK queue. It's been a year, and the color matching was done before the GB. So what gives?

Ah thanks! Hadn't checked deskhero, looks like they're "out of stock" as well though.
I have a feeling that the GB just hasn't been shipped yet. They regional vendors all will probably have some extras in stock once the GB starts shipping, right? Or do deskmats generally work differently, as far as you know?

It shows as in-stock on my end.
The GMK portion of the GB hasn't been shipped - but deskmats generally fulfill much faster than keycaps, so they have their own shipping schedules (hence why most vendors won't let you order deskmats+keycaps together). Vendors may have some extras later on, but you would have to ask each one to see.
