I got this old keyboard I salvaged from an old laptop that died. It uses some kind of mini-ALPS switches and it is in a nice form factor I like. I want to convert this to USB.
This is my plan:
Teensy something or other for a controller
3D printed case(I know CAD..not a big deal)
Maybe a bluetooth module?
It has a wierd top row that uses undersized keycaps so it is 79 keys in a 60% layout.
I've already painstakingly soldered 30ish wires to the original 0.5mm flatflex connector that ripped a while ago.
So my question is where do I go from here? Do note a few wierd things about this keyboard:
It has 8 diodes on it...looks to be on the rows but not sure why. I understand diodes for every key as that would make sure it has NKR but not sure about this.
It has some resistor packs on it down by the spacebar switch. Both I believe are 10K packs or one might be a 5K pack. Odd. Not sure the use for these.
