Personally, I love high gloss mirror like finish, I use the following steps for most of my project finishes:
(snipped)
Result: Glass Wood
That treatment would put even glass to shame!
Wood finishing is a bit of a cult, so without starting any religious debates I'll just say that we're keeping it
simple, practical, and natural looking - all woods will be completely sealed, durable and highly resistant to sweat/oils from skin. The final texture will be smudge-hiding satin with the grain texture sealed but not completely filled, we're not hiding the personality of these woods. Zebrawood especially is known for displaying huge open pores at various points within the grain, part of the attraction for most folks is the unique nature of these woods.
If you would like to finish it yourself, we can make arrangements to apply whatever sealer you prefer and leave the rest up to you?
