Yes pls!  Is this using a classic O2D PCB or one of the newer Snow PCBs he has been developing?

The snow PCBs use Snow Tools, far superior to O2D in my opinion.

only the 10 macros on the bottom left would be all-R3, rest 112343 sculpted

Elton, could the layout picture be expanded to truly show all compatibles? Since duck had pictures of the board with vertical 2u keys on the TKL cluster and stuff this pic seems incomplete, was wanting to know if ISO is supported and I hope stepped capslock isn't forced either.

Yes, Sir

I do have a preference for the JetFire-style bottom, though.

You know, this may sound "unclean", but if you're not strapped for cash, it always makes sense to buy a Duck kit.

Due to the limited supply and the brand name, if you end up not liking your kit, you can just sell it *for a profit* later on.

Or you could just skip it and get a board you actually like.

Converting the price from the chinese site to euro gives about 355€. But due to shipping it'll probably a bit more expensive?!

I think western prices have always been a little more than KR, not including shipping. Hard to compare now since the exchange rates never stay still

No, I didn't include VAT into that. I meant the price for the keyboard itself, without addons, VAT, shipping etc.

Though I have no idea how the previous Ducks were priced.

Duck Jetfire was 436$ while Lightsaver V3 was 375$. So anywhere between that I think

It's actually Korean Won price actually, not Chinese, but you are correct about the price; It was approx. 355 Euro (or $442) in the Korean GB that took place.

only the 10 macros on the bottom left would be all-R3, rest 112343 sculpted

Elton, could the layout picture be expanded to truly show all compatibles? Since duck had pictures of the board with vertical 2u keys on the TKL cluster and stuff this pic seems incomplete, was wanting to know if ISO is supported and I hope stepped capslock isn't forced either.

Show Image

Looking at the renders, the plate should support stepped and non stepped caps lock just fine.

Edit: it looks like the tkl cluster cutouts in the renders would also support 2u keys like Duck pictured, but it's hard to tell.

Yes pls!  Is this using a classic O2D PCB or one of the newer Snow PCBs he has been developing?

the snow PCBs use O2D anyway

The snow PCBs use Snow Tools, far superior to O2D in my opinion.

After using O2D for a while I was blown away by how easy Snow Tools is. Hope he decides to go in that direction. Either way I'm very excited for this!

Will make a great work board.

Ditto- Snow Tools is probably the best key mapper I've used so far.

Wow this is by and far my favorite duck board. I absolutely love the layout. It's even a bit slimmer than a regular TKL with only 2 columns instead of the normal 3.

The cost'll be a tough thing to stomach though.

But there are 2 extra on the left side, so it's actually 1 column longer :p

Hello all!

It's that time again. This is an interest for Duck's newest design, the TC-V3. Please let me know if you're interested  ;D.

Some links for you:

I would really like a regular TKL right hand side & left numpad via Ducky ;D

Yeah but for most people that light slimmer boards, the columns on the right matter the most because they're what let you put your mouse in a comfortable position. Extra columns on the left only matter if your desk is small to the point it won't fit.

For anyone that's been able to get a Duck board before how exactly does this work as a fan/interested buyer in NA?

F-Keys Rule.

I get why most people like the compact layout --- but once you take an interest and learn the numerous keyboard shortcuts that operating systems and software offer, it's hard going back.

It's interesting but I don't think I could cover this in a way I'd be happy with it. Great for people with novelty caps I guess.

Would have been a lot better if the left side was 3 columns so numpad keys could be used as a macro pad or something

easier to get them right first try in anodizing, so minimizes delays

i don't think he'll do other colors again, so it might be in your interest to have a board refinished if you get one

can generally be done in the under $100 range

Dang, that sucks. Would any random factory be able to refinish the board at the same quality, though?

noob question, but why did Duck boards stop having colors other than black and silver? I've kind of been waiting for some new colors to pop up before I jump on a Duck GB lately...

easier to get them right first try in anodizing, so minimizes delays

i don't think he'll do other colors again, so it might be in your interest to have a board refinished if you get one

can generally be done in the under $100 range

Dang, that sucks. Would any random factory be able to refinish the board at the same quality, though?

Every time you anodize it, it'll be lower quality. The quality difference depends on how good the refinishers are.

To this day I'm super sad I did not join / missed out on a Duck Orion TKL with blue-gray top and red bottom.  I love those shiny textured "bright dip anodizing" finishes he does and the colors he used to offer.

I reminisce over that blue gray... So good.

There's a good chance you'd get it if you just pay attention to the posted time that Elton announces. It's really not that hard.

Unless you have some information that I don't or missed, the only "posted time" is "about two week" which is, at best, classified as an estimate and not an exact time. It could happen on the 27th, the 28th, the 29th or even a different time. I go to work and school and check in when I have nothing better to do. If there was an exact time, yeah, it's really not that hard. With an estimate, and for boards that are super popular and limited like Duck's, I could miss it by minutes.

And if you weren't aware by my comment earlier, which imo is pretty clear, this would be my first Duck GB. So if you're getting your info from somewhere other than this thread, you should expect that I don't know about it.

He will announce the time and date when the GB thread will be submitted. Just keep an eye on the interest check and elton's posts. That's all that I meant. Good luck :)

elton has run many Duck group buys here, and there's a pattern to how he goes about it.  So the replies you've been getting are based on the experience of seeing that pattern develop over time.

Thank you, PhotoE. I made a mistake in phrasing and may have come off as offensive. I apologise tanvir. I do think you have a very good chance at TC-v3. It's not as solicited as some past designs, I would say due to its rather unique layout.

For the Jetfire GB, Elton announced a few days in advance a specific time when the GB opened. People who were interested in getting the board had a few days to prepare their F5 buttons.

Saw vertical 2u macro keys in the pictures, but will horizontal 2u be supported? Similar to the commodore 64 layout

Only vertical 2u macro keys are supported on the PCB.  You can put up to 4 vertical 2u key caps on the bottom 8 switch spots.
