So nice and classic, I even contemplated getting two base sets, but in the end, who can afford that? I'm also wondering what is taking Hot Trout so long to post "All sets purchased. Classic set for any keyboard." Maybe he's on vacation.

Not much to update on for a set with stock colors and no new molds used. It's just sitting in queue.

Finally received the shinethrough set from this GB and it looks great! I was surprised (and a bit disappointed) to see every key in the shinethrough kit is pad printed, rather than having some doubleshot caps like the IC suggested. Was this a mistake by GMK, an oversight, or something else?

GMK cannot do triple shot. Windowed caps already take up the double shot. They have always been UV printed

WoB Shinethrough has doubleshot Cherry Enter and novelties but the logos are a bit simpler, i.e. sans-serif typeface and the Cherry logo with two cherries instead of three. I could see that being the issue but I'm no expert when it comes to injection molding *shrug*

From the IC: "Note: Windowed keys will be pad printed. "CHERRY" will be doubleshot, cherries will be pad printed. Black cherries (non windowed, 1Us) will be doubleshot."

I wasn't perfectly clear at first but I meant the black legend non-windowed caps.

i bought 2 shinethrough only just for doubleshots. but why didn't you noticed that doubleshot changed to pad print?

Hi all,

First and foremost, I would like to apologize that I failed to let y'all know that there was a change. I thought I had let y'all know or posted somewhere but I clearly didn't do so.

In mid-July 2022, Novelkeys reached out to me and notified me that the novelty design (Cherry Enter and Cherry) fell below GMK's required specs. I was presented with 2 options.

Option 1: Increase the spacing around the cherries to 0.35mm
Option 2: Change to padprint to maintain the tightness around the cherry as well as some details

I made the decision to change to padprint strictly because they would not be able to do the leaf section correctly and you would lose a lot of details with going doubleshot. It wasn't a simple decision to make, since I have made the promise that these would be doubleshot. It was either go doubleshot and you get something that wasn't reflected in the renders OR go padprint and offer you something visually equal to the renders but not 100% as promised.

I understand not everyone is happy with the decision to move to padprint and I apologize for not informing you, but I hope with this, you can understand why the change was made.

5 months since the arrival of the set and I'm still very annoyed about how the decision of switching to pad print was made unilaterally.
At least poll the buyers or offer a choice
