my personal prototype in aluminum, cerakoted by p3d store

Dededecline's prototype in aluminum, cerakoted by p3d store

The LZ ErGO is a classic ergnomic design, predating the alice layout, and drawing inspiration from the "Microsoft natural ergonomic" series.

Nearfield expands on this by increasing the rotation of the two halves of the alpha cluster, each half is rotated 15 degrees towards the center of the board.
This increased angle forces the user to widen their elbow stance, and align their hands straighter with their forearms while typing.

Aesthetic design: Aside from the obvious layout homage to the ergo, retaining the nav cluster,
the case design draws inspiration from the M0110 keyboard series from Apple.

With large, relaxed chamfers surrounding the entire bezel of the board, top and bottom,
as well as large corner fillets, the boards imposing footprint is blended into the desk.

Damn, it's been a while since I got legit excited for a board!

Love the inclusion of an F-row while keeping it as a '40' board for the much smaller profile. This makes it super easy for hardcore fps gaming usage, which is my only problem with my current 40's collection, while still having it as a num row(who said that) or anything else for daily usage.

Aesthetics being so on point is just the cherry on top in this case lol.

Any chance for alp support on the pcb (please say yes), and/or pc option for the case(this would be sick in PC)?

This is truly sick, good job sir.

I... luv you.

Regarding PC, I personally feel it would fit the overall shape of the board quite well (and would be sick with alps on top of that) but I get that it's another variable more to consider, ultimately  :-[

the F row looks kinda weird but I really like this design, there aren't any issues with accidentally hitting the arrow keys with your arm when typing right?

Fair, I personally don't find any issue with the arrow keys. I have relatively large hands, and my palm rests comfortably in the area circled below

while it is not a colmak, split ortho keyboard with columnar stagger and 36 keys, I like qwerty stagger, and this satisfies those needs, retaining my current typing speed, while preventing the wrist pain that I experience when typing for long periods of time on a rectangle.

My friend!

I apologize for the redundant question, but alps support is confirmed for this, yes?
I saw the email from CK regarding the GB, wanted to make sure before I start sourcing the right switches for this since I didn't see any alps verbiage in there (not that i was expecting it either way lol.)

Thanks so much, looking forward to the GB!

Yep, I changed the footprint to the mx/alps hybrid footprint. Although I was looking around vintage boards you could kit it with, and I could only conclude you'd have to buy multiple boards (or DCS reaper) to get enough mod and bottom row keys to cover it.

Not 100% sure on time zone for that announcement but I think eastern time.
