« on: Sat, 12 May 2012, 21:16:37 »
This entire thread was 'rolled back', so here it is again.

Name anything related to Mechanical Keyboards (boards, caps, frames, etc.) that you want (be specific) and can't currently get for any reason, and we'll do our best to get it.

Manufacturer contact information is greatly appreciated and will greatly increase our ability to get what you're looking for.

non-Deck mx Clear keyboards for a realistic price (deck listed on your site for ~270 with "savings" of ~70 for a final price of 199 which is ~10 more than http://www.deckkeyboards.com).  Granted Deck is sold out... still...

Not to bash this thread, but the wrist rests are coming with the KMAC.  Both KMAC and wrist rests are on a boat being shipped here via sea right now :)

Try checking out on Deck's site. We're cheaper after shipping.

Also, our margin on these keyboards is a touch over zero in case you're wondering. that's why all the other 3rd parties like datacal list them much higher. They want to make a profit. We want a bigger catalog.

As soon as another co makes cherry clear boards, we'll pick em up :)

Any luck getting through to Noppoo yet?

Also, I want a Genius/Agama M1. Based on the logo/company name, I found this contact info.

Not yet with Noppoo.

Thanks for the detailed info on Genius Agama.  Makes life much easier :)  Is it just me or do those Red Cherrys look a little off?  Maybe it's the picture angle...

I think the blacks on the M1 are real Cherry switches, but the reds are fakes...the sheer weirdness of which only serves to make it more interesting to me.

There's an even cheaper, related keyboard, the Newmen GM-10 (contact info), with house-made (and apparently linear[!]) blue switches. I think there's a ViewSonic-branded version out there, too, but so far, all the ads I've seen for that one have had their text embedded in pictures, making it inaccessible to translation...so I don't really know much about that one. And all of them share some, but not all, design elements with the Rapoo V7, which uses fake yellow switches. Kind of makes me wonder how all the manufacturing/design connections work there...

Vortex aluminum TKL case. I read that you were trying to set up something with them. I don't want to purchase Vortex's whole keyboard, I don't have 250$ to spend right now. They must be able to make these for a pretty reasonable price, though. You're getting dye-subbed PBT caps, which go for around 80$ in a group buy (always thought this was kind of expensive, I might have mis-read something), 87 switches, which at their cheapest go for around 50-60$ new, along with the PCB and such, costing 10-20$ for them. Meaning that the board without the case should cost them around 140-160$, and the case alone would sell for 100$ or so, incredible because these kind of things normally sell for 180-200$. From what I've read and researched, there hasn't been any acutal aluminum cases for TKL keyboards, at least on english forums, that have been mass-produced in a group buy. Puting them in your online store would take it to the next level, I'm sure they would sell out before you can even restock if it worked out... So reserve one for me. ;)

Yeah, it's tough to do the math with some of Vortex's line and make sense of it.  The aluminum cases will be well over $100, but should still be less than the $180 - $200 you're seeing elsewhere.  LTD Pure's (w/ aluminum case) will be $199, so it's actually a really good value considering how much the cases will be by themselves.

Edit: I'm going to start a new thread about the Vortex Line and continue with the details in it.

Nothing firm yet. No order Placed. Planning on waiting a bit to see how this first shipment does before next order. Also need to get pricing figured out on these cases - something's not adding up currently.

I noticed something on the keyboard spec sheet from Ducky Internationals website.  It shows the options for white 9xxx series keyboards; why don't you carry these?

Because they don't actually exist yet :)

Rest assured we'll always be one of the first to stock Ducky's latest and greatest. Should have some new models in later this month in fact.

Another idea for something that shouldn't be too much overhead:

WASD sells little plastic bags filled with an excellent lubricant for stabilizers.  He sells them with the "barebones" keyboards.  One little bag can lube a bunch of keyboards.  Perhaps this is something that can go in the accessories section?  The lube he uses is superior to what EK is using.

Great idea.  Checking on it now.

Of the places you can find them in the US online, I know we're the cheapest once shipping is factored in (including Deck's own site).  There is NO margin in Deck keyboards, and it's mostly their fault for listing on their own site for $70 less than 'MSRP'.  Apparently, even the manufacturer doesn't adhere to the 'Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price' (not even close).  Sorry, but unless we're trying to just get rid of them all at a loss, our prices won't be going down on them anytime soon.

It's a high quality keyboard with unique high-quality caps and some hard to find switches (Cherry Clears).  Decks should carry a premium price tag, but they still don't sell that well even at the barely-above-cost prices they're listed at currently. I'd say most of the blame falls on the form factor and the font-type.  That and your typical modern customer isn't willing to fork over $200+ on a keyboard unless the words 'Topre' or 'Aluminum' are involved in some way.

Really liking the KBTalking Pure you guys sent me.

THANKS!

I'd post a review here but it would just get deleted.

Please post a review on our site.  I'd really like to get more reviews up for all of the products we carry.

If you want to mail me keyboards to review, I'd be happy to spend a week with them, then send them back with a review.

I'm always up for trying new things.

MechanicalKeyboards.com <-- nothing but our 'best prices'

Goto step 2 of checkout for INT shipping quote.  Shipping estimator is shot and usually doesn't work for INT anyway.

Thanks but can source locally for the same price.  Was wanting to help out a fellow member :(

Hail mechanicalkeyboards.com!

We were very close to getting some Green MX boards made, but it didn't work out.  I'll keep working on it though.  I think clear is out of production, but white is now available - or the exact opposite.  I tend to mix these two up.  My mind seems to lump clear and white into the same category.

We just got the Ducky TKL rests in BUT they'll still be a little big for a Vortex - much better than full size though.

Excellent! When will you have pricing estimates? If it's compatible, soon my phantom will be complete!
