[IC] Hammer & BUGERWORK—— Parallel-World keycaps
« on: Tue, 16 May 2023, 05:20:49 »

Hi everyone, this is Lewis.
I believe that many CRP fans are also very fond of OG keyboards. What about a keycap set combine both classic features and modern design style? :D

Inspired by early mechanical keyboard keycaps and design by Bugerwork,
this keycap set brings back some elements that are rare today to the Parallel-World keycaps in the new CPR-X profile.

Keycaps over 1.25 units feature the stepped keycaps to fit the retro theme and are compatible with current MX stabilizers as well.

At the same time, the alphabet area features a US-international layout for compatibility with different language users.

The classic red, green and blue legend colours usually seen on a 1980s/90s keyboard are re-coloured to give a new trendy feel while maintaining the familiar retro flavour.

Reverse printing of legends can not only increase color contrast but also achieve the function of rotating the keycaps for dual use with the new CRP-X keycap profile.

Hammer's high quality PBT material with dye-subbed legends provides excellent effect in both appearance and durability.

I love the unique profile!

If you're interested in making a metal artisan keycap in your custom CRP-X Profile,

We make high quality, polished metal artisan keycaps for a fraction of the price of other manufacturers at the moment, with so many customisation options available.

Custom base with your name on it, as well as rendering animations available. Please do reach out to me

Really cool design concept, we need more authentic retro cap designs. The centered stepped caps in particular are amazing!

However, the legends are just not quite there for me on this one. No 1.5u Backspace is a bummer (should be standard by now). The upside down legends, while interestingly functional, just turn out to be somewhat limiting as far as aesthetics/colors (and kinda messy looking). Also, I feel like there's a missed opportunity here to color-match the layer color with a corresponding "FUNC" key legend of the same color. Lastly, there's no need to have branded legends, it just look tacky.

Can a caps lock be added to the accent kits? Looks really nice with an accent enter like this

Can you create a kit similar to "iberia kit" from ePBT Scandi.

I really enjoy your creation  :)

All keys are uniform profile,  mods keys are stepped.

In this case, you can not rotate the capslock for using as a CRTL.

CRP—X, at this moment, is a new attempt and not perfect. There may be a very different style in the future ;D

Pretty interesting project and think the modifiers look cool (also no 1.5 backspace???)

Also could there maybe be big ass enter, I feel like that would really sell home the vintage aesthetic

1.5u Alt can be rotated and used as a 1.5u bksp.
I do like big ass enter, but it seems basically not much keyboard support it.

Didn't know about the alt thing lol, also yeah there wouldn't be too many pcbs that support it sadly, there have been other projects that have done big ass enter though, most recently was probably the DCS WOB run.

This profile and set does hit the retro feel very well. I love the stepped mods. Nice job!

As a relatively ardent 2u (and 2x2u) spacebar supporter, I'm disappointed by the branding on the 2u spacebars. If that gets removed, it would be hard for me to say no to this.

This, plus the Hammer and Buger Works alt legends. Branded keys are tacky.

Kind of…… Pre-build keyboard brands like to do this.

It doesn't have to be a stepped I would just like to have a caps lock (ie 1.75u cap) in the red and blue novelty kits

Really interesting concept!

I do agree with the others that the branded keys should go. Super tacky.
Also agree with the caps lock being included in the color novelties!

This is a nice way to cover ansi and iso legends in the same set and the more stepped keys the better.

I would suggest pulling the branded legends though or tossing them in with novelties rather than forcing them in the base kit.

i like the shape of the keys, not so much the upside down legends,

also on the numpad 3 it should be page down, not right.
